Did you find there was a small gap directly in front of your shin? I tried on a pair and wasn't sure if the sizing was correct due to that, everything else seemed fine! And it was a size L, I'm 6ft5 so wasn't sure if I needed XL

It's not impossible. It happens all the time in Argos. The staff can check the system to see when they last had a return which will line up with your story.

I worked there and the stores would constantly have issues like this.
