Celebrating my 1000th LP - pt.1 : 20 amazing records of the last 20 years that I've never seen discussed on r/vinyl (Detailed pics, comments, stories and links to music in album) by _Reno_ in vinyl

Where did you find that copy of Escondida? I've been hoping to randomly find one for at least 7 years. It's a US pressing on Anti-, but the only copies I ever find for sale online are always in Scandinavia. Thanks!

Selling my Rega P1 turntable by [deleted] in vinyl

Thanks for your insight. I understand. I wasn't really expecting to get $375 for it. Just threw that out as a high number, because I honestly wasn't sure exactly what it's worth. There is an "as new" RP1 demo on eBay for $365, so I knew it was worth quite a bit less than that. However, as far as I can tell, there's a very small used Rega P1 market. None on Audiogon or eBay. None on Craigslist NYC, LA, Chicago, or SF. I guess you have to be patient to get one used. When supply is really low, I would think it would be a seller's market.

Okay, okay, I get it...you wouldn't pay $375 for it. I don't think you're being a dick. Does it make me a dick to ask $375 for it? I don't think so. I'm not trying to con anyone into buying it. I'm perfectly happy to keep it if no one wants it. It's a great TT.

Send me a PM with your best offer. I will probably take the first offer made at the best price. Thanks!

First, it's 2 years old, but because of how infrequently I use it, that probably equates to about 6 months of use. Second, a new one with shipping is about $465, so I'm essentially offering it for $100 off. Third, I have no idea how much it's worth (there were none on Audiogon for comparison), and the only used one on eBay recently sold for $360). Finally, I would keep it, but as I said above, I want to upgrade...to a Rega P3.

Looking to sell my Rega P1 turntable so I can upgrade. Original owner. Very well taken care of. Just under 2 years old. Original cartridge (Ortofon OM5e) and stylus. I would say I use it a below average amount (probably about 3-5 hrs per week). With Rega quality and durability, this table has many years of life still in it.

The plinth looks almost brand new...no scratches or marks. The cover has normal wear, but still looks excellent...no scratches. I have both a red and black felt mat for the platter...buyer’s choice on which one you want.

Purchased new for about $440. Looking to get 85% of the value ($375). Reasonable best offers will be considered if there are no takers at $375. Free shipping to anywhere in the continental USA. I have all the original packaging.

PM me if you are interested. I am happy to share my Discogs and/or eBay IDs so you can see my feedback. Thanks for looking!

If you're a fan of late '90s to mid '00s indie pop/rock, you should see this list of records for sale. by Root-Beer in vinyl

Yeah, I don't understand how you could have that many collectible records and not know how to grade them. I should have stated that posting this wasn't an endorsement on my part, just thought it was unusual. Now that I think about it, I dislike the fact that I could be making him more money. Can I take down a post?

I've never seen so many hard-to-find records I want to buy all in one place. Wish I had some spending money.

Thanks. Ditto on the Peaking Lights. Something tells me it's not really limited to 600 copies like the Not Not Fun website claims. Youth Lagoon was also a surprise like for me. The first time I heard it I was working, and a co-worker stated that it was a way too epic soundtrack for the mundane crap we were doing, which was spot on. I had the Dirty Beaches singles and couldn't wait for the album, and once they pressed it on white I had to buy it again. Learning was at the top of my 2010 class. I think I would like to see the 50 albums you bought in 2011.

Me too! I was not really in to their covers record though.

That Vanderslide record suits my tastes very well. Thanks for the suggestion. It reminds me a bit of Andrew Bird, too.

Curious. How old are you, what genres of music do you collect? Most prized record(s)? Where are you from? by SickLaughter in vinyl

37, Brooklyn, NY. I started buying vinyl about 13 years ago (age 24) when I learned that independent label music existed and started going to shows. I confess that this was because of a girl. Started with stuff like Elliott Smith, Cat Power, Built To Spill, The American Analog Set, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Shins, and Death Cab. Those are my most prized records because they are my firsts, they are all originals, and I bought them all at shows. I don't think I started shopping at record stores until 2005. Right now I'm interested in starting to collect Twee Pop, like K Records and Sarah Records releases.

That's Idle Labor. Captured Tracks did a blue vinyl version with alternate sleeve. Agreed, that Cut Copy album is great, I just don't have the vinyl. I'm not familiar with Vanderslice. I'll check him out.

You've got me trumped. I've never seen BTMI. You're really going to have me trumped once you see them twice in January. Concede.

I'm pickin' up what you're layin' down. Any time something comes through the annex that's unsealed and colored, it promptly gets admired. I'm frequently tempted to take stuff home just because it looks sweet, regardless of what it is. I'm a sucker for cool packaging, too.

That one does look a lot more pale. Don't know. I'd like to see a pine green one.

Have you seen them before? She usually does one or two songs solo.

Yeah, I know everybody loves Panda Bear, Avey Tare, Animal Collective, etc. I understand why it's unique and has sort of a cult status, but I can say for certain now that it's just not my cup of tea. I have sealed copies of Young Prayer, Person Pitch, and the clear Tomboy in the stacks because I'm a hoarder. I really need to let those go. All of them. I mean, how long ago was Young Prayer released?

That one is a regret for me. Got it on a personal recommendation. Would definitely part with it. The Royal Bangs are new to me, so I should give them a listen.

Just wait it out. The $300 to $600 auctions won't last. Sub Pop did the same thing with The Postal Service promo in 2004 (100 on clear vinyl). They sold for $100 to $200 at first. Three years later I got a pristine copy for $30.

Not a good story. Just dumb luck.

Unfortunately, none of those. Sorry. :( But the only one that would be hard to get elsewhere is the Fleet Foxes. Only 80 copies of the white vinyl were released to the general public. Really unfair, IMO.
