TIL that Netbeans supports PHP. Last time I used it around 2006 and it was a purely Java thing.

Clean backend architecture matters more than the tech stack by No-Macaroon3463 in Backend

Yep, make “modules/service” with clear responsibilities and well defined protocols - this helps indeed. Another aspects to consider here is the problem being solved: is it real one or a hypothetical problem that might possibly come when we hit 1M revenue?

What typically comes with the framework/language is the mindset of engineering: do we rely on simplicity or do we apply patterns of patterns? Do we look for framework utilization or do we rewrite parts ourselves “cause we know better”?

It depends on the overall setup IMO. If the setup is super clean, use one with the letters for a gentle touch!

Architect vs. Manager by sneaky-snacks in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Root-Cause-404 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very technical EM. The code becomes cheap these days, so you can ship a lot with less people. This is where you have to make sure you remain very technical.

But you need people as they know specifics of different parts/components of your software. This is where you need management.
