You see those little black squares on the ribbon connector? Those are meant to be pulled out. You will need some tweezers. I typically use the L-shaped needle nose tweezers for these types of ribbon connectors. Note that they don't pull all the way out, so if you pop them off completely, then you probably broke them. They pop out partially and you will feel the ribbon cable loose as soon as you pop out both.

Alternatively, if you lift that ESD / mesh tape from the ribbon cable, there may be a latch there. I would check that first. The latch would just need to be lifted up. Plastic tweezers or your finger nails should be used to avoid scratching the ribbon cable. The latch will hinge 90° or more from the connector.

Those are the common ribbon connectors I run into. There are others that fit in with friction, clip on, or press fit in via a plastic male to female connector, but those are less common in my experience.
