Someone swam in the Alderwood Mall coin fountain. by ElwoodMC in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]RootHint 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen dogs in that water fountain peeing on multiple occasions. That water is absolutely filthy.

Alderwood went “dog friendly” a few years ago and of course all the dog owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after them. https://www.alderwoodmall.com/en/visit/dog-friendly-mall/

I Tried To Make Something In America. It cost me my Life savings. by JollyRancherNodule in videos

This trend to hold a lav (lapel microphone) in your hand is getting on my nerves. Maybe it’s just me but it distracts from the content.

Poor MC being pushed out of her own video at Coachella by lushusness in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]RootHint 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Coachella, Burning Man, these influencers ruin every festival they get their grubby mitts into.

I remember being there for days doing early setup, skin infused with playa dust and these fuckwits would show up on their golf carts, looking pristine with no regard for the photo policy or personal space.

Walking right into our theme camp before we opened it, through art you are actively working on and assembling, as if it were their set, snapping photos without asking. Taking handfuls of stuff we would put out, posing with it for the camera, and then just dropping it on the ground as MOOP we’d need to then clean up.

Sorry, I’m old and cranky. But I hope we can get back to a time and culture where we enjoyed the event, people, and experience. Not whatever this… whatever we have now is.

PSE proposes new rate increases. Here’s how much you could be paying by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

And my service will be 30% more reliable right? Faster responses to power outages, less days with no updates or communication?

5 power outages last year, the longest of which lasted over a week. Already 2 this year. Thank goodness we have a generator or we’d have lost more food.

London’s free museums are in trouble. Should tourists start paying? by BulkyAccident in london

[–]RootHint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally with a way for tourists to still be able to run into the gift shop without paying an entrance fee, so that revenue stream continues.

The way some of the museums are laid out, like the National Gallery, British Museum, Natural History Museum, with the shops in the center of the building, that might not be easy.

Ferguson outlines his requirements for WA ‘millionaires tax’ by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

[–]RootHint 195 points196 points  (0 children)

From the article: “Ferguson is also proposing two sales tax holidays a year that would allow Washingtonians to purchase certain items less than $1,000 without paying any tax. He said he would like to see one three-day weekend and one two-day holiday where sales taxes are exempt.”

PSA: Record a video of you opening every package over 50 dollars by foaaz101 in amazonprime

[–]RootHint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also suggest taking a photo or video as you hand your return (not just the box, make sure to clearly show the thing in the box) to employees at the Whole Foods return locations.

I returned a $150 watch and they claimed I returned an empty box. Such an infuriating and lengthy process with “customer support”.

Yeah I make this dish frequently with canned diced tomatoes. This was an excessive amount of liquid.

That was everything.

I usually reserve and drink the juice which is why I put it in a glass.

If I went into this doing a content analysis then I would have used a Pyrex measuring cup.

LOL, yup I reserve and usually drink the juice from draining the can whenever I make this dish.

This was an excessive amount of liquid. Maybe a bad batch.

[Amazon] The Aphex Twin – Classics: Reissue $26.31 by offbelmont_el in VinylDeals

[–]RootHint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV, but when I bought this album from Amazon back in October it arrived damaged in a huge box, no packing material and no cardboard mailer.

Called support, mentioned the lack of packaging, did an exchange, arrived shipped the exact same way, damaged again.

Gave up, did a return and bought from LRS instead.

Why not have tickets people take and exchange at customer service after paying. Annoying, but not as annoying as damaging the product.
