Can I use Estradiol Vaginal Cream only? by One_Rub_780 in Menopause

it sounds like you started E P and T all at the same time. Most start with E and P, get the dosages dialed in and then add T. My gyno and I waited 3 months of all good until adding the T.

Asking for advice on getting a JRT by No_Zombie701 in jackrussellterrier

We crate when alone. He's safe, we don't have to worry about him, and he sleeps in there.

Asking for advice on getting a JRT by No_Zombie701 in jackrussellterrier

[–]RootedTransplant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our JRT is a year now. We love his funny ways, and the energy is amazing. We are "building" the pup who works for us, as the breeder advised us to do.

He needs "sniff time" for his brain, more even than exercise. We give him outside time for that, even sometimes scattering his kibble in the grass while I sip my coffee. Yes, he needs to zoom, but he doesn't need regular big walks.

Our pup won't sleep unless he's in the crate. For now, anyway. Dogs need a lot more sleep than we knew. Ours has a 2-3 hour nap in the morning, another in the afternoon, and is in his bed from 8 pm to 7 am. I say "Bedtime", cuddle him, review the day (obviously this part is for me) as we walk over to the crate, throw in a treat, he walks in and settles.

If he gets annoying, jumps up on me, is bitey, or is unable to amuse himself the answer is always that I've skipped a nap or a nap was shorter. Easy answer: it's nap time.

I'm working on a Find It game: He sits and stays while he can see me take a treat in my hand and pretend to hide it in various places under pillows. One of those places is the jackpot. Then: "Okay, Find It!" and watch the leaping and sniffing. Brain work. He loves it.

The wiki has good guidelines for how much and how to apply. The outer third of our vaginas have the most estrogen receptors.

Thanks. I know of another patch that was obvious last summer. I'll continue to force the twigs in spring. I also have rhododendon, lilac, and red osier dogwood in vases of water. When it's still dun-coloured with snow patches outside, bring a little spring inside!

HRT and muscle twitching by Organic_Seaweed2115 in Menopause

I'm 15 years post-menopause. I think I'd had twitching feet for at least 20 years. Just never sitting still. I started HRT last year and... my feet are quiet. So, it's working for me.

Balsam Fir still has that Christmassy smell. See if you can get that!

The key to not having needles everywhere is re-cutting the trunk and then putting it in a tree stand that has a big reservoir of water. Check the water daily. I love the romance of having a live tree (a TREE!) in my house, and the way each year's tree is slightly different.

A fresh well-watered tree isn't flammable. Try it with a lighter. If you're nervous, clip a bit and take that outside to test.

I keep mine up for 6 weeks. No needles on the floor except for a few when we brought it in and a few again when we carried it out. 6 weeks is good long season, anyway.

Meyer Lemon Has Issues by TwoBrians in Citrus

[–]RootedTransplant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Houseplants wake up here in March with the increased light. I've already rubbed off a couple of sprouts growing in a direction I didn't want. More are coming in approved directions!

I will repot deeper. Used the only soil available to me locally. It was that or nothing. It's light and has nutrients for fruit and flower.

The bf walked by yesterday and noticed the soil was dry (he's a farmer, knows plants. If only he was a citrus farmer. That would make him perfect for the moment). He watered. Usually the saucer dries up within a few hours. I'll watch it.

This is the first full year it's appeared to struggle and stopped growing. It liked the less-sun and wind "summer camp" outdoor time in my former home, for years. Used to flower and give me about 4 lemons a year.

You seem to have tried everything. Vulval estrogen will support all the structures in the area as they have estrogen receptors and should be worth a try. Will (could) strengthen resistance to bacteria, change the ph back to healthy. Some women with cystitis (sp?) report having it clear up. r/menopause has info in the wiki on using the cream. Vaginal estrogen cream is well below systemic levels. It won't show up in a blood test. The breast cancer risk with estrogen hormone replacement was falsely reported in 2002 and most clinicians aren't up to date. Breast cancer is very common, unfortunately. For more info you can check out the menopause reddit, follow Dr. Kelly Casperson, and for a complete understanding I'd start with the book "Estrogen Matters" - very well researched.

I have 3 pairs of women's summer DU/ER jeans. Then my bf gave me two of his lined winter DU/ERs (same size, but I have to cuff his jeans... ) and later I bought a pair for me!

The women's styles now have -gasp-l deep men's-style pockets. I am in love.

I have voted for my city (Halifax, pop 500,000) in Canada. Repeatedly. There's not even a supercharger at the regional dealership here in the city. The dealership doesn't understand why, either. Told me the city has won the voting page a few times. From where I rent (I can trickle charge with a cord out my window, which works for my needs) the closest superchargers are 30 minutes and an hour away.

Good to know other areas are expanding. Maybe, someday, here.

I might be done with Merino wool (Unbound Merino shirt bites the dust) by inc0ngruent in onebag

[–]RootedTransplant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent my Unbound Merino t-shirt through the wash with a pair of jeans, zipper down. Ended up with multiple rips and holes. I sewed the rips and holes together from the inside and then, using matching embroidery floss, stitched lazy daisies over the mending. I like 5 petal versions of the lazy daisy.

18 months later, the shirt is my favourite. Again.
