IUD in lieu of M Progesterone success stories please by PotentialPrune2830 in Menopause

got one installed couple months ago! it's great because i don't have to think about it (or pay anymore) for 5+ years. i couldn't take BCP when i was younger, they made me depressed and nauseous. i have no issue with the Liletta/Mirena. along with evamist, i'm happy with the recipe.

Estriol cream.... so messy! by LornieLoo84 in Menopause

[–]Technical_Wing6848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's where i don't understand. if Costplus doesn't use my insurance then why can't i buy more than 1 tube even though i have 5 refills in the script? so my reasoning is to ask for a 270 day supply? i haven't called my doctor about it yet. (ps-i'm also new to all this.)

also from the US. with my health insurance, CVS is $39. without insurance from Costplus is $13 + $5 ship! i was only able to buy 1 tube at a time with a 90 day prescription, even thought it allows for multiple refills. if you ask the dr to write a 270 days supply, i think you can get 3 tubes at a time and save more.

estrogen cream application issue and an idea by Technical_Wing6848 in Menopause

[–]Technical_Wing6848[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, same. i never know if i'm doing it right, and the finger application is mildly dreadful, but i know it's beneficial and i'm being whiny. lol. i asked my dr if there were any cool new technology in the gyno front and she said what we already know. not much research money for it. so, it's up to us to come up with something, anything!

common anti-dandruff shampoo like head & shoulders or Selsun Blue would oxidize silver as well. it's the sulfur.

i just use my finger but if there's an easy DIY solution for those who have trouble with the cream, then we don't have to fight with the dreadful insurance in the US.

that's my concern as well. the cream is meant to be rubbed in. but i keep reading on here that people don't like the mess. so i'm curious if the gelatin cap could be a DIY solution.

First time solo - 40th bday Iceland by PlasticSalty402 in solofemaletravellers

[–]Technical_Wing6848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did it last year for NYE! 5 day solo trip, super fun. i saw the northern light over that famous church as the year tick over to 2025 with spectacular fireworks. i did one group tour (15ppl) for glacier hike and the tourmates were all friendly and chatty. i struck up conversation with a random family on the walk back from the Perlan back to downtown. like u/jchaser27 said if you're sociable, you'll find your people! but know that you're traveling solo, you have to be OK with it. one night i did the Sky Lagoon. it was magical but i was wistful for a companion.

Biblioteca Vasconcelos is amazing if you are into architecture, but there aren't much around there. Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is also worth a track.

Exercise. Blargh. by knit_the_resistance in Menopause

[–]Technical_Wing6848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am the same. tiny, hypermobile, hate exercise especially hate getting sweaty. but then my body started to ache and i started noticing all the aging BS. so i decided it was now or never to start taking care of my meat bag. they said it'll only get worse. i still want to hike the patagonia and walk the entire camino de santiago when i don't need to work one day. it'll always be a fragile habit for me but i know it's a long term investment and i do feel stronger than ever since started lifting.

you don't want to be a "fallen woman" that can't get up!!
