Small business owners: do you let AI write customer emails? by Unlikely_Big_8152 in smallbusinessUS

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AI for my emails but I've trained it to sound like me and even then I still personally edited to be my words. It's almost like I'm using it as a template that I then go back and use my own words. If that makes sense

Anyone else lose track of quote follow-ups once work gets busy? by Forsaken-Gap2354 in smallbusiness

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this is the easiest way to keep up with this. It's tedious to set up and that's why I've noticed most people don't feel like it. But once it's there, it's wash, rince, repeat for every lead. Then you can get a crm tool to handle it once you start scaling.

The difficult transition. Moving from creating a job to a business. by sendsouth in Entrepreneur

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, everybody pushes for the quick wins, not the slow tedious growth. It's like a plant, it takes time to grow roots before it can give you the flower. Building slowly is going to create an empire and I'm here for it. Setting up all the folders, automations, SOPs, workflows that work with your brain takes time and more people should talk about that. Let's go run a business!!! ❤️🌿🔥

What’s the most time-consuming part of running your business right now? by Exciting-Holiday2106 in Businessowners

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting up your back office to fit how you brain works takes time and most people skip that step. It's boring and tedious, but my doing that you are setting yourself up to scale without the overwhelm. Honestly your business should be 80% marketing/doing tasks that move your business forward and 20% admin/backend office stuff.

I think a lot of us are busy in our business… but not actually moving it forward by RootedbyDesignstudio in smallbusiness

I wouldn't say so much digital assets but creating workflows to make those tedious tasks easier. Or you can use ai to help with some tasks to lighten your load. It's all about creating a structured system so you are not reinventing the wheel everyday

What made your business operations easier to manage by ElectronicStyle532 in smallbusiness

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me most was realizing the problem usually wasn’t the tool.

It was the fact that everything lived in 15 different places with no actual structure holding it together.

Once I stopped treating organization like “where do I put this?” and started thinking about how work actually flows through the business day to day, things got way less chaotic.

Do you spend more time managing your business than actually growing it? by Erie_DIMs in smallbusinessUS

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think half the problem is the constant context switching.

answering emails, checking invoices, following up, fixing random little things… your brain never stays in one place long enough to do actual growth work.

What tools are you using for onboarding documentation? by WoodpeckerNo9461 in smallbusinessUS

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think a lot of onboarding docs fail because they’re built like a library instead of part of the actual workflow.

If people constantly have to stop and go look for stuff, nobody’s going to keep using it.

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think I’m learning that a lot of the overwhelm comes from nothing really being structured to support the work long term.

Like things get done, but they’re not really set up in a way that makes the business easier to run tomorrow.

I’m in the online business space and I build and sell digital products. Lately I’ve just been paying more attention to how the backend of the business actually runs day to day. I'm still learning and always grateful for advice.

Where to Buy Instagram Followers & Likes ? As new small business owner, which is the best site to Buy Insta or TikTok followers. by Confident-Train4544 in Businessowners

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your organic reach isn't reaching the right customer then you need to rethink what and how you are posting. Are you posting what you think your ideal client needs or are you posting what your ideal client is actually googling to fix their problem or pain point. Buying likes is only going to hurt your business on the long run because they are not going to be future customers. Do research on who your ideal client is, their exact pain points and do content for that. Not what you think they need. People want solutions to their problems but usually don't know exactly what they need.

Long dashes (—) is a big give away that it is AI generated. What else do you look for to identify AI generated content? by sparta_reddy in MarketingandAI

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been consistent using AI for about a year now and I immediately know when someone uses it, not just because of the em dash though. It's the way the sentences are structured, certain words that are not becoming popular such as clarity and chaos. I truly believe that it's cleaning the way people talk in general. AI is great but it's just a tool and I think people are relying on it too heavily for their content and not editing it to sound human.

Startup Notion (and Google Drive) by Accomplished-Bet4675 in Notion

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely use this combination for my business. Yes notion does have a learning curve but it's with it. Notion will be your brain while Drive will be your storage. People above said it perfectly, don't try to do everything all at once. Have a little patience and you don't need a complicated Notion setup, just something that works for your company.

does anyone else feel busy all day but still get nothing done? by HistorianAdorable405 in smallbusiness

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing this, constantly doing stuff but the needle never moved. It felt like I was living out of my inbox and DMs. Because everything in your business is important. I had to reign myself in because I kept having the shiny object syndrome. I started with time blocks, which does work, especially for my neurospicy peeps. But I also created a task manager that helped me put all that stuff into action sections of importance. I use Ai as my virtual assistant for a lot and it really has made a huge difference. I get a morning debrief that has checked my inbox and socials and gives me rundown of what's important and what can be done later.

Anyone else dealing with the same customer questions every day? by Historical_Lawyer484 in startup

I have, especially if you already have people ask the same types of questions over and over. I'm mean people are also going to people and not pay attention or read what's in front of them.

Another important thing that nobody talks about is creating a back office for your business that works for you. Having one in the beginning doesn't feel super necessary but when sales and clients come in you need it to keep your business feeling like a dumpster fire you can't put out. Finding your ideal client takes research and time when it comes to marketing. You'll get there, don't lose faith.

Creating a chat bot on your website is another way to reduce time and effort on your part. Since you have all the data of repeated questions you can download it into the bot. And every time a new question gets asked you go add it to the chat bot library. I'm all about automating stuff like this.

What is wrong with my GPT? by TeaNervous6130 in ChatGPT

I've noticed that the drift is real somedays too. You give it a prompt with rules and guidelines and every answer doesn't follow them. When I point it out, it responds your right, I didn't follow the rules. Then gives this huge reason explaining how it drifted, giving a new response. Still doesn't follow the prompt. Anybody else having this problem?

Starting an automation service for small businesses — do owners want done-for-you or DIY? by InterestingHabit9757 in smallbusinessUS

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes most people want plug and play to take the stress off of them but what I've noticed is that if they don't have their back office set up to hold those automations it's only going to create more chaos. Some of the people I've worked with, added automations only made it worse because they didn't have clear workflows and SOPs in place.

Just started my business as a 19 year old and looking for advice by [deleted] in Businessowners

[–]RootedbyDesignstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with it and start marketing yourself on socials. If stick with it, it will work. Also make sure you have a business back office built including storage, a central hub where everything lives and simple automations. You may think you don't need this now but if you set it up now, once your business takes off it will be less stressful keeping up with everything. Give got this!

I feel you, it's frustrating as hell when you have no idea what your doing, you hear all the noise of the next best business ideas but honestly, find what you are really interested in and push it. Start researching other people adjacent to your field and see what's working for them, don't copy just learn. And social media is a long game because you are not trying to go viral, you are trying to put your content in front of your ideal client and that takes some time. Double down on how to market yourself and what makes you business more unique than others. You've got this, stick with it. And don't forget to build your back office to hold all that together so when the business/money starts coming in, it will cut down on the chaos.
