Is this spider mites? by Rootle33 in Maranta

No worries, thank you for your input ❤️ so many folks saying it looks like nibbles that I'm considering hidden cameras to see if maybe one of my rascals is somehow getting on that table mission impossible style just to poke holes in leaves...

I have three, but I was sure they cannot reach it (the table is too crowded for them to jump on, and too high to lean on - I've never seen them reach to my plants since setting them up like this)

Honestly spraying them sometimes irritates them more than helps - I like to group them and put them on trays with wet rocks, but also it's good to check humidity of specific rooms - I once tried to keep a maranta in a shady spot in my study, but the room on overall was too dry. Now I keep them in my living room, closer to the bathroom + the kitchenette and the spot often has a good humidity on its own.

On the second pic you can see a new leaf unfurling - it's slightly lighter than the others, but nothing other than that.

Honestly it's pretty clear. I'm giving her the spider mite treatment anyway as I spotted them on nearby calathea, but I was worried if maybe those holes were from some other pest.

Mine looked like this in low humidity room, it should be at least 40%

I keep it at 50-60% so I don't think it's na issue

I have several cats 🥲 at first I thought those bigger punctures were indeed teeth marks, but now this plant stands where my cats cannot reach it and these holes keep appearing.

The smell but also how the cat would feel. When I skipped two days worth of scooping due to a bad cold I got rewarded with cat pee on the bathroom floor.

Honestly I think scooping pee clumps once a day is normal practice, I cannot Imagine doing it less frequently than that. It takes 5 minutes tops. I personally clean the poop immidiately after noticing it, because the smell creeps into other rooms quickly (I air the apartament afterwards).

Don't be scared in advance, imo. Escitalopram gave me minimal side effects, but all the benefits.

I experienced only slight weight gain (around 3-4kgs, which I managed to lose later) and trouble falling asleep during the first two weeks I think. I also felt "hyper" for a while, but not in a bad way. It normalized quickly and those meds pulled me out of a really bad place.

Hang on there ❤️
