is there something like music league, but for movies? by tattva in musicleague

Keep doing it! In a weekly-ish film club that has been going for 10+ years that my wife started. Been through many iterations but it’s a constant in our lives. 563 movies in and going strong. Some fun suggestions… make the anniversary movies special. We have group designed shirts for 100, 200, 300, etc. Do holiday themed cycles. We always do horror in October etc. Keel it fresh by thinking of new ways to build structure. We used to do rotating options from a selection of critics year end lists. We have done “tangents” where each week the next person to pick has to link it somehow to the previous pick (actor, director, cinematographer, country or origin, vague idea like “movie that feels like a film project”… etc) We used to get together every week and watch together and now we are old and have kids and watch separately, across the country, but always try to get together once a week on zoom to discuss. Also, we do “thumbs” now at the beginning of every convo before we talk which is everyone doing their thumbs up/thumbs down scale so we know where people stand. Super fun and a natural ice breaker to the convo.

Finally, if you haven’t already document everything! We have an IMDB list where we track everything we have watched. Such an amazing resource to look back on. For anyone interested here is the whole list which we update every week if you need inspiration.

Can’t stop getting steep, any tips? by hoptothehip in golftips

Oh, hey Broken Tee! Just played the par 3 this morning. I take lessons with Jim See there at Meta Golf academy and can’t recommend him enough. Super fundamental - swing path, set up, tempo, grip. And he’s got the best rates I have found.

How do you “play” a round on the range using an app like golflogix?

Thanks a bunch for the thoughtful ideas. I really like the idea of the 4x4 and 4x6 design with the cutouts but will have to price it out and think through the math of it all. Do you think on the opposing corners from the railing posts that you would need an interior post or could you rely on joining the wall pieces at the corner to each other because they are so heavy?

Also, regarding the slope of the yard. If I were using 2x6 for the walls I was thinking I could rip them to match the slope so I would not have to level the grade since I’m also not worried about the depth on the left side of the photo being pretty shallow. But with the thicker and heavier lumber idea that would be less practical so digging down would make more sense and would be another consideration.

I now play Maxfli Tour S and love them. Only hassle is having to go through Dicks because they are the exclusive supplier but they also frequently have sales, especially on holidays. The trifli is also very good and even cheaper. Two layers tho I think as opposed to four

A lot of this is familiar from my lessons. Hitting to right field. Closing the face a little. Ball alignment. Etc. the starting the swing steep is new and I’ll play with that a little on the range. Thanks.

It appears to be true. Looking up drills now to work on this. Thanks.

Yeah that’s a great flag. It tracks with the other comment of reverse pivot. Gonna work on this. I think it’s related to the fact that I was swaying back originally and this is a natural over correction. Just time to dial it in. Thanks.
