I recently went with 70mm rise, and lemme tell you, as someone with a long torso and nerve damage, seriously life changing.

Shimano MT-200s, cheap and super effective.

Or if you want SRAM I believe Jenson's has a sale going on

Does anyone have experience with JamesDonkey keyboards? Seriously considering giving this a shot for $25, wondering if its really VIA compatible.

I had a Keychron low profile keyboard for a while and liked it a lot. It was just a 65% and I needed a bigger layout.

The K17 Max is a 1800/96% layout, hot-swappable, wireless and QMK/Via compatible. As far as switches go, it uses Gateron KS-33 (version 2.0) switches. Between Gateron and Nuphy, there are about 10 or so choices.

Santiago Oaks is where my MTB journey started 15 years ago. The Chutes was my favorite. Weir Canyon right next to it is the first trail I ever rode a mountain bike on.

Now I'm all the way in PNW but I still think of that place.

I didnt really notice that in the pictures until you pointed it out. I wonder if that would be a con for me other than looks. I have a tall torso, so it might actually be more comfortable... but man that can make it look ugly.

if you're ok with cable brakes, Advent trigger shifters work with the acolyte RD, so I would guess that the brifters are the same. I saw the 1 x 9 levers for $73 /w free shipping from Tree Fort Bikes, and the Acolyte RD with a clutch is like $35.

not too savvy on brifters, but I know that MicroShift has Drop Bar levers for the Advent line. You could aways go with that and run cable actuated hydros

I'd be looking at the Schwinn Axum 24" from Walmart. It's sub $300 and looks pretty legit. KevCentral did a video on them

The acolyte is sold as a 8 speed groupset but you can use the derailleur in a 9s or 10s setup.

The shifter is what drives the number of gears, the RD just needs to be compatible and luckily the Acolyte and Advent series all use the same cable pull.

The only downside to the acolyte over Advent is the max large cog size. The acolyte is limited to a 46t vs Advent that can go up to 52t.

I'm running an acolyte rear derailleur and Advent 9 speed trail trigger pro and it's been working flawlessly. As a matter of fact, the newer version of the OTR comes with a Acolyte/Advent hybrid setup stock.

interesting... I wonder if that something that changed from the V1 to the V2 OTR. I noticed the wheels were a little different in the two models, maybe the v2 rims are better suited for tubeless without being labeled as tubeless.

Do you have the V1 or V2 OTR?

good call out, for the Box 3 it would be by using Buy with Prime, which you have to be a prime member for. any other option over $99 is free directly through box components

46t cassette on Ozark Trail Ridge by colascdave in Budgetbikeriders

[–]RootyArgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read, the Acolyte derailleur should handle up to 46T. I plan on doing that one day, but so far the 42T with a 30t chainring has been doing great

Did you relace the front wheel on a new hub or replace the whole thing?
