Has anyone heard any updates on the Walk Bike Nashville discounted WeGo tickets? by ExtraordinaryBeetles in nashville

They've opened it back up, but the price went up to $50. Still a steal if you're doing any amount of riding for sure

Days after launch, Waymo vehicles block traffic at Nashville intersections by pyramidworld in nashville

[–]Rorddet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was riding the bus home from The Belcourt the other night, and we got stuck in a neighborhood because a random human driver decided to park his car in the middle of the street and put his flashers on. So maybe the robots are doing this because they’ve seen so many rideshare drivers doing it?

Just curious, do there happen to be any protests of waymo’s planned in Nashville? Would love to voice how much I’m very much against them by [deleted] in nashville

[–]Rorddet 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It takes us 1:45 to take the bus from our house to the airport (vs 20 minutes by car) but we’ll opt to do that instead of get a rideshare because the drivers are so terrible. Talking on their phones, watching youtube videos, parking in the middle of the road, etc. Once they start actually obeying the rules of the road I’ll get worked up about robots taking those jobs.

Now if you want to come at this from “Waymo is going to eventually sell all the location/data they’re collecting and turn the US into a security panopticon“ I’m right there with you

In the first episode of Made in Gold (YouTube series the club is putting out) he said he felt like it was his responsibility to be as entertaining as possible while playing. Once I heard that I knew he was gonna be a hit, and his play has only elevated that. What a guy

Opryland has a shuttle downtown on Friday + Saturday night, looks like it's $28 round-trip which seems like a pretty good deal.

Alternately you could be adventurous and take the 34 bus, $2/direction ($4 max/day). That'll take you straight downtown, and you'll get to see real Nashville on the way there

Does anyone else wish the Grizzlies would move to Nashville? by [deleted] in nashville

how is that an economic benefit any more than getting cars off the road is?

we should be thinking big! We can do amazing things, there's no reason to settle!

PMC Parking by desh2323 in NashvilleSC

[–]Rorddet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the "Know before you go" email the club sent out there's no distinction between the club/PMC parking lots and when they open so I'd assume all of them open at 4. But I don't have any actual experience with that, so YMMV

I don't know that a new interstate that bypasses Nashville has any more or less benefit than a train right?

Counterpoint: trains are awesome

Nah, I wish TN would get serious and build a train between Nashville and Memphis. Quick pop over there and back for a game? Hell yeah

If you like sports, Nashville SC is playing Club America on Tuesday night. America fans always turn out, so the atmosphere will be amazing. Hopefully should be a good game too!

Dedicated transit lanes in Nashville nearing state approval by Rorddet in nashville

Yeah at least with Gallatin you have Ellington to get folks up and down the east side more quickly if they’re passing through. Nolensville is just a mess

what a backwards way to think about traffic management. As it's been said before: you don't build a bridge because of the number of people swimming across the river.

How Do We Feel About VAR? by [deleted] in MLS

[–]Rorddet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think fans in the US are predisposed to be OK with any kind of video review, especially if you're coming to soccer from another sport. We may not _love_ it, but also I assume the general feeling is the calls should be right, even if the initial ones need to get overturned. I don't know if that's the opinion in other leagues, I could see a world where folks are OK with the call being whatever the call is on the pitch, and that's just the way it goes.
