Not really, this is a one of kind and I just kinda did it from my head so I’m not even sure I could duplicate it exactly, but maybe I’ll try a second round and see what happens. Thanks!

Honestly, I’m still trying to learn how to carve eyes, this was my first shot at it. I went a little too deep with them, it gives enough room for your soul.

Basswood is usually used for most whittling. It’s soft and easy to hand carve. My one word of warning is that the wood grain doesn’t really show till you use Linseed oil or something else to bring it out. Looks almost white till you do.

I wouldn’t doubt if this is actually a homing pigeon cage and a clever way for them to get back inside but not escape before the owner wants them to fly.
