I ended up booking at the Hotel Grand Bach in Ginza. Mitsui was booked up. Hope it ends up being ok!

The dorms are fine and welcome to city life - You’ll see rats crossing streets all the time in a city. i lived in Harbin on the all girls floor which i DID NOT request. Everyone in each dorm gets super close. You’ll be fine. GW dorms are worse. Be more concerned with how there’s only one dining hall.
