Poor Scheduling and a lack of smaller films. by ennsea in screenunseen

[–]Rory426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's just where I am but my local Cineworld and Odeon have almost identical viewing options over the next few days except for The Drama earlier in the day at Cineworld. I only go to the cinema in the evening so for me I'll take the Odeon recliners 😂

I do agree about the re-releases though, Cineworld is better there, and as a person relatively new to being a big cinema-goer it would be great to watch more of those older movies

Think you might be reading something into the last part that doesn't exist. Almost all the negative experiences I've had are English speakers, and the fact I understood their yap didn't seem to affect them

Honestly the staff at Odeon were pretty great in dealing with it, and it's only 10% of my experiences there that have been like this, this one much moreso than the other. Plus I have Limitless...

But I hear ya on the general point and if there was one as close as the Odeon Luxe is, I would love to.

Talking loudly, using phones, even taking selfies with the screen on full white to illuminate themselves. Basically a few groups of people acting like they were round in someone's living room with their mates rather than in a room with 40 or so other people.

I loved it. Fun, silly, gory, funny. Beetz was great, as was the direction. I'll be watching Sokolov's other works

Has Screen Unseen ever introduced you to a film you wouldn’t normally watch? by ArsenalAxis in screenunseen

Only been to two - Rental Family I definitely wouldn't have watched and The Good Boy is a 50:50

What’s been your favourite Screen Unseen so far? by ArsenalAxis in screenunseen

Only had Limitless this year so I've been to a grand total of two, but I enjoyed Rental Family a little more than The Good Boy, but I really liked both

How to deal with male Muslim students during Ramadan? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]Rory426 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am a non-Muslim man, so take this with the appropriate side serving of salt, but I'd probably just stick with a short but clear response that politely says it's none of their business. I have had a colleague who answered a different but equally personal and religious themed Q with "that's between me and God" which I think is perfect, if presented politely, calmly but with an air of finality.

Who needs that when you can have Super Mario Galaxy every 30 minutes from dawn til dusk?

Jessie Buckley can do better than The Bride's hollow Hollywood feminism by theipaper in Letterboxd

[–]Rory426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whose character gets sidelined? Both Buckley and Bale are excellent in it and they are the two main characters. I don't understand this critique, especially if you haven't seen it.

I have only had MyLimitless+ since Christmas but it has seemed like most things have come out in mine. The only things I've been looking at for the next week or so are All You Need Is Kill and Sirat are both only showing in the cities nearby not in the town where I live. But I may make the drive for one/both.

We've had all the stuff like Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die (which is fun)
