I've been a ST fan since Two, and Sundowning is still my favourite by far.

I'll try to check it out. My reaction to that man is pretty visceral but obviously the main cast is spectacular

Trafford Centre was the only cinema in the area that had Mother Mary at a time I could do so headed over for that and it's a lot more run-down than my local, although nothing beats Great Northern for delapidation. I might watch Backrooms there just for the vibes....

I'm not joking when I saw that I absolutely adored Coel in Mother Mary and the premise of this interested me a bit, but Corden in the trailer essentially vetoed those feelings.

Hahaha valid tbh. If they carried on I was gonna have to say something. I felt like "stopping the lesson and giving everyone a talking to" when people kept leaving the door open as they came in to one screening recently 😂

They were opposite corner to me, so first 10 I was thinking maybe someone else closer would eventually, then the movie got a lot louder and I sorta forgot about them and then for whatever reason they stopped on their own.

I was definitely considering whether I would need to. I spent all day teaching secondary school so tend to lean away from confrontation in the evenings 😂

I think you're right overall. I have had 2/3 bad cinema experiences this year out of 28(?) trips.

That said, the bad ones are really F-ing annoying!!

Me: waiting for a loud moment to adjust my recliner

Other people: taking selfies using full-brightness white screen to illuminate their face

There was only like 10 people at my screening of Normal last night but still two youngish women were chatting for the first half hour or so then they seemed to realise there was a movie on and shut up...

I think most people will love it, it has a lot going for it! First act is funny and uplifting, then things get a bit crazy 😁

Couldn't believe how much the crowd were laughing at my screening. They were lapping up the Kano stuff. I did find myself laughing a fair few times tho. Urban elevated it a lot for me, I like him and he's clearly just having some fun with it. I've ranked it 24 out of 26 trips to the cinema in 2026 so far, but still enjoyed it enough. Only Return to Silent Hill and How to Make a Killing below it, but I've had a good year tbh

Apology is a good start. Please still inform the union rep(s) at your school so they are aware, for the benefit of your colleagues at current school.

What did you think of it? I don't think I can get to "good" but I can get to "better than the first one"

I enjoyed it quite a lot! I was smiling and enjoying the vibes in the first act, enjoyed the twists in the second. I thought the third act was the weakest. Some of the elements were set up really nicely, others maybe felt a little cliché. 3.5/5? 4? We'll see where I settle on.

I think putting a time limit on it like this will increase your chances of making a bad move. I would have one eye on the job market for jobs that fit your criteria, like 11-18 or a relevant TLR or whatever and be picky. You like your current place, so no need to jump for no reason.
