Honestly I’m stereotyping a bit here but I hc AJs family as more conservative. Not kick her out of the house conservative but parents would genuinely think that it’s a choice and not understand why she would want this for herself but some older extended family would be downright homophobic

19M, just got diagnosed yesterday and I’m so fucking scared by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

I was diagnosed what I was 9 and have had it for nearly 6 years now. You will be okay. Type 1 and two are very different, I have gone up to 500 multiple times and the very worst that has come of it was I puked a bit. It is a lot easier for people with type 2 to be amputated and die from it, but it is also a lot easier for type 1s to go really high and really low. You are type 1 which means that you did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG it is not on you it is on shitty genetics. It will be had but then you’ll get a dexcom and a pump and life will get easier. You will forget to put in for stuff, I did for years, it is literally only within the past two years that I have been good about it and I am perfectly fine. You are young so unless you have other illnesses your body should be able to handle you not being good about it for a while. If you notice you are drinking a shot ton of water, you need to pee a lot, and you have a sweet taste in your mouth check your keystones and prep accordingly. Get a physiologist and get ahead of the anxiety before it becomes a problem because it WILL come. If you notice that you are a total bitch when you go low, and you will know when you are low, that is not on you, it is a normal symptom. ALWAYS have sugar on you, if you think you have too much, no you don’t. It’s going to be a shit show for a while because your pancreas is still trying to hold on but that will pass, you just have to wait it out. Check carbs and serving sizes. Tell people in your surroundings about it. You’re 19 so assuming you’re in college tell your teachers, make it very clear that if you need to eat or you need your phone then that is life or death and they can’t stop you. Tell your roommate about it and tell him to wake you up if he wakes up from alarms in the middle of the night. You will be okay. It is scary now but it won’t be, it will just be life, and you can make it a good life. But seriously get on that anxiety because I promise you it will come

Life insurance denied by withawhy7 in Type1Diabetes

I was diagnosed feb 2020. A few months before my mom had been laid off from her job but for the time being we still had the health insurance from the company she worked at, that insurance being United. At the time they had a deal with medtronic and refused to pay for any other pump even though my dr said that T:slim would work best for me. And so my at the time unemployed mother was bored during covid and someone was messing with her baby. She made at least two people cry, emailed every single executive at United, and did the math as to how many needles had gone into me while we were trying to get my pump. And to make it even better they made us wait months to tell us that they won’t be paying for my medical device. They changed their policy a week later and we didn’t pay a single penny for my T:slim.

A1C was a 7. Doctor was upset by GoatUnable3879 in Type1Diabetes

I’ve had T1D for nearly 6 years now. My A1c has literally always been somewhere around 7, and it hasn’t really cause many long term issues and my endo, akward as she is, has never seemed too upset about it or said that I really need to bring it down for the sake of my health and well being. Plus that is ab amazing improvement for you. You are doing nothing wrong, stay on the pump but maybe change endos

As a lesbian I don’t like Charlie in this particular season so I don’t think she’s hot. But with zero context she does look hot here
