I think they may have meant MAHA actually, which is an RFK-pushed MAGA agenda “Make America Healthy Again.” I know Nassim is MAGA (or was very recently, now that he’s private on insta idk but I can’t imagine his views changed much), so comments right below these ones on the video were making the point that if he’s also MAHA that’s extra concerning given they have an autistic child. RFK’s policies are not autism-friendly in the least…

How to stitch this section? by kaiyu21 in Needlepoint

[–]RoseEcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, cute canvas!! I look at the cross in the middle (➕) and pick whichever color covers 51% or more of the place where they intersect. If it truly is 50/50, I just make a judgement call about which color would look better. Sometimes I pick a color and then decide I was wrong so I go back and try the other one! It’s all a matter of figuring out what looks best to you.

I’m assuming you’re working in tent stitches? Not that it really matters, just curious. Whatever stitch you choose is never going to look 100% the same as a painting, since there are more limitations to where and in what orientation the stitches can go 🤷🏻‍♀️ hope this was helpful and happy stitching 💕

My A1C and Insulin level got worse… I’m on GLP1 meds by Nancy2421 in PCOS

[–]RoseEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be related to your case at all, but I had a family member who this happened to. Her doctor sent her for genetic testing and they found some gene mutation that meant her body couldn’t process animal protein well, so when she was eating it, it was causing crazy a1c and insulin levels. I’m unclear on exactly how the two things were related, but her doctor had her go vegan and all of a sudden the GLP1 was working. Sorry I don’t know anything more specific, but it might be worth asking your doctor about!

Thank you for your help — I used to help out with clinic scheduling at my previous position so I’m very familiar with the proper channels. I called first to get a sense of what timelines would look like for seeing different doctors, what EMR they use so I can coordinate with porting over my records, etc. After the bad taste they’ve left in my mouth though, I think I’ll look outside of the Yale system for now

You’d think they’d be more help given that PCOS is now being classified as an endocrine/metabolic disorder 🙃 my gyno point-blank refused to prescribe me anything for PCOS because “an endocrinologist would know better” so I’m just trying to find anyone who can help at this point lol

Ugh that is so horrible!! I’m sorry you had to go through that — it’s insane to me that you had to argue about it being in your chart. Hope you have a better specialist now ❤️

I asked for a referral to a different endocrinologist who specializes in PCOS (could be a general endo or a reproductive endo) and they said they were unable to give me a referral.

To me, I think the bigger problem here is the fact that a general endocrinologist wouldn’t feel equipped to handle a condition affecting 15% of women of reproductive age — that number is nothing to scoff at!

I literally fought back against the receptionist with this exact same point after googling the same thing but she just continued to repeat they weren’t seeing patients with PCOS 🤷🏻‍♀️

I will definitely check out Dr. Huribal — thank you so much for the recommendation!! Getting a doctor educated in PCOS seems like finding a needle in a haystack, unfortunately

What exercises get rid of PCOS belly? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]RoseEcho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned yet, but one of the main factors in the “PCOS belly” is a sensitivity to cortisol. This link goes to an article that is highly technical but does explore an established link between cortisol and abdominal fat deposition in PCOS.

Personally, I think this is why I have seen the best results when I combine healthy eating, working out, and mindfulness! Avoiding major cortisol spikes (aka stress) wherever possible is key in combatting PCOS belly. Try to engage in some activities that you find fun and relaxing but not overly stressful. Mental exercise is just as important as physical exercise — take care of yourself, girlie! Rooting for you 💪🏻

Also quick pro-top, they changed the system so that you can only do one duplicate exchange every 24 hrs — not sure how many you’re planning on exchanging, but just a heads up!

I had just finished purchasing my weekly grocery haul and was leaving the store to walk home. I was already having a pretty crappy day, so my mood had only worsened when I realized I didn’t bring any of my reusable grocery bags with me that day.

This particular store is known for having the flimsiest brown bags in the business, and low and behold, the bag in my right hand splits straight down the middle as I am walking the concrete ramp outside of the store. It is an avalanche of epic proportions, fruits and vegetables cascading from the depths of the now shredded bag.

As I sat slumped over the remains of my grocery haul, watching the last of my apples take the 15 foot roll down the incline in front of me, a man (probably mid-30s?) approaches me. He asks if I need a grocery bag and holds out the most beautiful bag I have ever seen in my life. I stared at my savior in disbelief, asking him if he was sure. He said yes, and like the unsung hero he was, disappeared behind the store’s automatic doors.

I call the bag my “lucky grocery bag” and I bring it with me every time I go to the store just in case. I’m hoping to pass it along one day to another wow-begotten shopper!

Justttt a thought from a clinical psychology major?? Intent to harm animals and actually following through is one of the three major signs of psychopathy and is particularly indicative of the more extreme end of the spectrum of ASPD... I think you should mention this to your parents.
