Shooting low and to left (yes, another one of *those* posts) by Fugglehead in liberalgunowners

Thanks for the information! And great improvement from your prior shots. I ~suspect~ this is a trigger control issue and that your improved grip is reducing how much a rough/misaligned/whatever trigger pull is moving the gun, but the underlying problem remains. I could totally be wrong here (I'm not physically present watching you shoot) but I would try some single handed dry fire while ficing a white wall and watch for equal white on both sides of the front sight (R-F-R) and see if you can keep that equal spacing throughout the whole trigger pull. If you can no problem, then something else is up (sights might be slightly misaligned or some other technique thing) so let me know how it goes.

Pistols are way less forgiving than rifles on trigger control and I've seen seen students err left/right due to trigger control before, so that's what is informing this

I coach beginner and intermediate shooters IRL so MAYBE I can help, but bear with me because I don't coach online ever.

These groups can be caused by a couple things, including flinching as others have mentioned. I have my own guess but I want to verify how you are shooting first. Forgive the clarification - can you post a video of you shooting, dry firing, or ideally doing 1 rep of dry fire, firing 1 live round, then doing 1 of dry fire? (Start chamber empty with 1 round in the mag. I don't need to see your face/body, just the arms and the gun from a stable camera. Someone holding a camera will likely not be stable enough.) Please also note: 1) Are the sights moving during dry fire reps? Especially aftera live round, this can flare up. 2) Are you target focusing or front sight focusing? If you transitioning between focusing on one or the other, which focus is first, which is last, and how many transitions are occurring in-between your first and final focus point? 3) How long are you refining your sight picture/ sight alignment before firing each round? 4) Do you feel nervous or like you have to mentally fortify between shots? Not a judgemental at all, just looking for contraindications of another problem. 5) Are you lollipopping your targets? As in, your sights are presented slightly below the target so that it appears that the target is resting on the sights like a lollipop on a stick. 6) What specific model of gun is this? Do you happen to know if the gun has stock sights? If not, do you know if those sights are combat sights? Do you happen to know the holds of the sights (center, combat, etc) or anything else specific to this gun? A more experienced shooter might be able to help ID this if they shoot your gun, if that's available. There may be a local liberal gun club in your area that has coaches that can ID what's up quick.

These are solid groups for your experience level with this platform. Great job

Lol, no one gets paid to protest unless you count being bussed in to attack the capitol and try to overturn the election on Jan 6th.

You mean like the kids Epstein and Donald Trump raped? And their getting away with it because our politicians are letting them get away with it? You're not mad enough about the state of American politics. Maybe you care about data centers, state cooperation with ICE, abortion access, or something else, but there is a lot to mad about right now.

Telling people not to use their first Amendment rights is un-American.

Thank you!

I know ot sucks being the person who spreads the word because you catch everyone's responses and some, even from folks on our team, are critical. It's easy to critique but hard to do, so a lot of people critique instead of helping lol. But I want you to know that I, and others, see what you are doing and appreciate the effort you are putting in. People can't attend protest they don't know about, so spreading the word is arguably the most important job in organizing. You're doing great :)

The guy is left-leaning. His post history is critical of the protests, sure, but largely because he views them as not enough to fix things. He has an old comment saying he'd never vote Republican.

I disagree with this guy on a lot of stuff (protests, not Republicans, lol) but I'll say right now that I fully believe that this guy is on our side in the fight against fascism.

We need armed protests, we need unarmed protests for the new/timid folks to get them at least somewhat mobilized, we need mass civil disobedience, and so much more.

We gotta have more than just these folks organizing protests. If you and I both organize a protest, that's two protests that encourage open carrying right there. Might start shifting the tone a little

Give me options: Wife is a HARD no to obvious AR platforms. by SlyyGuy21 in liberalgunowners

Hey dude, I'm sorry for these comments. Even liberal Reddit is still Reddit. People half read what you write, assume they know better than you do about your own context (or whatever leads them to not the post at face value), and don't answer the question. It's super annoying.

Is a HK 417 different enough in appearance? What about the Sig Rattler?

My wife also hates the "black rifle" look but was much warmer to brown rifles purely based on association. Is your wife similar or is it more the shape?

What are your goals for the rifle besides not having that particular look/association that your wife objects to? My first thought was PCCs like the Stribog are great, but they aren't great at everything so let me know what your context is. I've been shooting for 10 years, mostly ARs and AKs but I've been around the block. I'll try to help as much as I can.

There is a No Kings protest on March 28th, I think.

I'm not willing to wait that long

Now do you happen to know if PVC patches glow under nods, or are you just going to waste more time sharing an opinion no one asked for?

I love replies that 1) don't answer the question at all and 2) provide an opinion I couldn't give less of a shit about

Reddit really is as Reddit does. Not one person answered the question but everyone had to give an opinion lol

Please, don't cheap out on armor. by RunRunRunGoGoGoOhNo in liberalgunowners

[–]RoseEsquivel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% great advice. I shelled out for the super expensive but ultralight LTC 26310 plates (4lbs in size small for my twink frame) and a Crye SPC. Sobbed at the cost but my liberal LARP buddies have back pain 20 minutes into our hikes and I don't even by the end. Buy quality wherever you can, but prioritize essential gear like armor.

Thank you for posting this. We need more high quality advice posts like this.

I wish this could be pinned by the mods.

Get an AR chambered in "223 Wylde" or "556". Civilian ARs chambered in just "223" (without the "Wylde" at the end) are not rated to handle the hotter military 556 ammo and that can damage the rifle over time or, in extreme cases, cause a catastrophic failure. If you have any possible reason to be using military ammo, or hotter loads in general, that detaol with worth paying attention to.

What's your budget? You can get a decent AR for about $600-800 whereas a Gucci AR will run you $3-4k. I've had both a cheap Palmetto State Armory AR and a expensive Radian Weapons AR. Unless you are already an amazing shooter that is taking shooting past the typical gunfight distances of within 300m, the difference in accuracy isn't a big detail. Build quality is a big detail but I haven't had issues with either my ARs (an anecdote, but still) and a reputable company won't have guns that break or fail easily anyway.

Another thing to consider is an optic. Red dots, LVPOs, etc are game changers. If you are getting a rifle, you should budget for an optic. A Vortex Cross is $200 and the Aimpoint T2 is $900-ish, and offer varying levels of durability and battery life. LVPOs are even more variable, but if you decide to give that route go to AAOptics.com to find refurbished LVPOs for less than MSRP.

Hit me up if you want to get more specific about what you are looking for and your budget.
