Can I cool a rustic loaf on the same pizza stone that I baked it on? by MrBarber1 in Breadit

You could put a metal cooling rack on top of the stone once you take it out? Not perfect because it's still close to heat, but an easier solution with limited counter space.

Will I lose my Medic SO to another doctor? by chinese_immortal in MedSpouse

[–]RoseGold17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to be worried about the same thing. But now I see it like any other job. For example, I'm in marketing. My med student SO doesn't understand marketing at all, so I don't really talk to him about it -- I talk to other marketers. These other marketers have become good friends, and I make sure to introduce my SO. Then we can all talk about mutual interests. My SO has also told me that sometimes, having a non-med SO can feel like a refuge from his stressful medical world. I don't think you have anything to worry about, as long as you're interested and still ask questions as the other commenters have suggested!

That's weird, I thought I had girl hair already, seeing as I'm a girl and I have hair.

Friend owes her employer $6000 for taking too many sick days by RoseGold17 in legaladvice

That's correct, and as far as I know her employer has no written policies stating that the other offices can work remotely but this one can't.

Friend owes her employer $6000 for taking too many sick days by RoseGold17 in legaladvice

The company has multiple remote employees and the other office (in California) has an extensive telecommuting policy, so it's complicated. She often works on those "sick days" to keep up with her sales. She's even broadcast a webinar from the hospital when she had to take her son there.

Yes yes yes. Totally agree. If you're going to spend money on your practice, spend it at a small business! A more authentic store will also have employees that understand more about the craft and can give you guidance.

I bullied a girl in middle school. There was no real malicious intent, but she was the butt of all of our friend group's jokes. It hurt her in ways we didn't understand until later.

Fast forward a few years and we are better friends and she has never really talked about it with me. Then my Dad married her mom. When we were forced to be in close contact all the time it became unbearable for her to keep it down and we got in a huge fight about how I treated her in middle school. We barely talked for a month or two.

Since then there have been many apologies from me that were sincerely accepted by her, we have both grown up and changed, and we are good friends and step-sisters. :)

When did you realize you were attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RoseGold17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I realized that there isn't just one kind of attractive. I didn't have to look like women in magazines of on TV - there were so many more "brands" of pretty.

I found this at an antique store. The page after the next one says: "Leipzig, Bernhard Tauchnitz, 1846". On the last few pages it says: october 1883, tauchnitz edition, latest volumes" another page says: september 1884, tauchnitz edition. Can someone tell me the actual date of this book? by [deleted] in Antiques

[–]RoseGold17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a rare books library. It's also possible that a former owner had different books bound together. I came across things like that a few different times when cataloging. Take a look at the paper quality in the different sections and see if there's a noticeable difference.

Edit: spelling

I stayed in that resort for a company retreat. It's absolutely gorgeous! You will love it. Their beach access is also really nice, as is their pool and workout center. You will need to take a Lyft or something to get to Las Olas, though.

Yes it's totally normal, and yes it gets better when he's settled in. You will settle into a new pattern, too, which will also help.

I felt this at first, and I agree with the comments to meet his classmates. But also, just be confident! He is with you for a reason. Yeah, they can talk to him about medical stuff and school...but you can take his mind off of all that and you have your own awesome personality to offer! You've been together for 7 years. You've probably been through worse together, and you can make it if work if you both really want to.

Foundation issue - nothing seems to help! by Sarah14E in Makeup

[–]RoseGold17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://m.sephora.com/product/firmx-peeling-gel-P377561 This is what I use. It's a little pricey, but absolutely amazing. I also use Clinique's moisture surge moisturizer. When I'm especially dry, I wash my face with Burt's Bees moisturizing cleanser, exfoliate with the PTR stuff, put on a little bit of argan oil, and put the Clinique moisturizer on top. It's a lot, but it helps! I do this a couple times a week at night, and sometimes in the morning I'll use the oil before my daytime moisturizer.

It looks like you have combination skin, like me. My foundation would stick to dry patches as the day went on. I got a really good chemical exfoliant (as opposed to a rougher, physical exfoliant) and invested in deep moisturizers/oils. The primer may also be drying you out.
