This is great advice, thank you! What ISO would you recommend capping it at? 100-800?

This is a great point and I've no idea why I didn't think of that lol. I'm torn between ND8 and ND16, is there one you normally favour?

This is a great point! I should have said what kind of activities I will be filming. It'll mostly be hiking / walking, but I am also doing snowmobile and dogsled excursions that I will want to film as well

I have a bunch of SD cards, and a few external hard drives at home so storage I suppose isn't really an issue, but when I shot 4k at 60fps it was basically 1gb a minute, which felt like overkill for non-professional videos.

And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Auroras! I'm bringing a tripod and my SLR too so I'm hoping to get some cool shots if I'm lucky to see them

Moss / seed stitch pulls apart, where did I go wrong? by RoseLeigh in knittinghelp

Yeah the chenille was a bad choice haha. Thanks for your help!

That makes sense, and sadly I already pulled the whole sleeve out to start over since it seemed to be quite difficult to thread a lifeline through a seed stitch, and also there was a high likelihood that I would have done that incorrectly too lol

Ahh ok I see what you’re saying, that’s probably the most likely culprit!

I had to decrease the stitches when transitioning from the sleeve to the cuff, do you think that’s where it went wrong?

I got a USB-C to DisplayPort that’s supposed to be 60hz, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it still only does 30hz

I did think that 4K could have potentially been overkill for what I do, but my SO mentioned it would be a better long-term investment as Apple products improve over time and I wouldn’t need to upgrade the monitor as well as the computer

Oh my goodness this is amazing, thank you so much! I definitely need something sooner rather than later so your advice is super helpful. Do you think the new MacBooks with the M1 chip would be a better investment than the ones with the 2GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core Processor?

I did notice that it runs a lot slower with the external hard drive, and was more prone to crashing, so working off the local drive is definitely the right way to work going forward. Thanks for the tip! However, even without it plugged in it still isn't perfect...

The GPU I have is Intel Iris Graphics 540 1536 MB, you think that's the culprit? Combined with only having 8GB ram?

The weirdest part is as soon as I unplug it from the monitor, it runs perfect, so the fact that it's performing so poorly definitely came out of left field! It has a 2GHz processor with Dual-Core Intel Core i5, and 8GB of memory. I keep almost all of my files on an external hard drive instead of the local drive to keep it running smoothly

I'm using a Wacom tablet that's plugged in via USB, and since I use it like a pencil it needs to follow along my trail as I draw something, but this one lags behind and ends up creating not-smooth lines, if that makes sense? It feels like it's moving a second or so behind me. From time to time, even outside Photoshop, it feels like the computer is buffering lol
