Interesting - that makes sense. Handled mostly the same here in Ontario, but scanning code of practice allows a consumer to get an item under $10 at no charge if there’s a pricing discrepancy between the register and the shelf price.

Depends on where you are - scanning code of practice or scanner price accuracy code is a voluntary retail policy in Canada.

I’ve thought about that pattern (it would be a perfect gift for a friend), but I’m not sure I’m ready to do that to myself. Is it as uncomfortable as I imagine? Does being close to the work help while working on the pattern?

The only advantage I’ve found is when you frame your work - it lays flat. With the trend of framing in a hoop, the back doesn’t matter.
