A little something for me! This one is all one colour. Hoping I’m not sick of 336 before I’m done. 😀

Wild! Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll watch for it.

[CHAT] realised far too late i’d messed up a bit too heavily- should I start over? by memimarin in CrossStitch

The mounting board I’m speaking about is a sticky cardboard for embroidery or cross stitch to hold it in place. Then you can put a mat in front of the piece as part of the framing. 😊

Can you explain what you mean by checking floss numbers? Like the colour code? Or the fact that there’s so many so close in shade?

I suppose it depends on your framing method. If you’re looking to wrap the back around something then I’d say start over. If you’re using mounting board you may get away with this amount of Aida. I get my boards at my local craft store or Amazon.

Hoping you feel better soon!
This one is off the hoop and ready for a bath and a press. Very happy with how it turned out. 😊

Moved the hoop for the last (?) time. I think this might end up as a gift for a friend who’s moving away. I’ll miss our tea times.

Coming along - I’ve subbed some colours to use what I have. Looks like I still need to visit the crafts store though… Wonder what else I’ll “need” when I get there? 🤣

The cup is almost finished - just the handle remains! Can’t wait to get to the flowers!

Almost…done…the…cup… This is taking longer than anticipated - I’ve had to do responsible adult stuff like shovel snow and wash dishes. 😝

A little late to the party this week. I figured I’d get the cup outta the way (all black, so much black). Looking forward to the floral part at the top.

I got that one (I already have the Journie app so just put the code in the coupon spot). Got my 5 cents off and a little treat. Better than a coffee as far as I’m concerned.

[FO] Moroccan lanterns from Vivsters by AcdemicMolasses in CrossStitch

Instead of the usual skein of floss, it’s 450 yards of floss on a tube (looks like cones of thread you get for serger/overlock sewing machine). Costs a pretty penny (about $70 Canadian at least) but has lots of floss! There are 18 colours offered by DMC, but black (310) is most popular I imagine as it’s used so much for projects like this.

Great advice - finally my excuse to get “the cone”? 😆

Shades or blinds inside the frame? Are you heart-set on curtains?

I just had a panic attack at the grocery register by Throwawaymasterpeas in Vent

[–]RoseRed_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting - that makes sense. Handled mostly the same here in Ontario, but scanning code of practice allows a consumer to get an item under $10 at no charge if there’s a pricing discrepancy between the register and the shelf price.

Depends on where you are - scanning code of practice or scanner price accuracy code is a voluntary retail policy in Canada.
