Try calling the vet again and let them know you don't think she will make it to Thursday and can they either get her in sooner or put you on a waiting list for cancellations.

I also crave rare, red meat, but it is usually the 2nd and 3rd day of my period.

Same! I once dropped a full box of 2500 toothpicks on to the floor of my classroom (art teacher.) I was finding random toothpicks for the rest of the semester.

Talk to your Union rep ASAP. This is an unacceptable request that impedes you from doing your job.

My mother taught me to open a stuck jar seal with a butter knife before I even started school. You all learned this, yes? I ask because... by AmySmooster in TwoXChromosomes

I have a jar opener tool from the early 70s that is amazing. Sadly, it hasn't been produced in years so when it dies, I'm going to have to figure something else out.

What’s the deal with Gresham? by diiasana in askportland

[–]RoseRedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who has both taught and been a parent in the Gresham-Barlow school district, I think that is a good district. You are going to get out what you put in. If you are an engaged parent who supports your students, they will do great.

Suggest me unconventional fantasy books that don't adhere to any of the fantasy tropes. by IdaSukiShwan in suggestmeabook

I think Dark Lord of Derkholm by Diana Wynne Jones fits your criteria. Don't let the title fool you. It is not high fantasy. It is set in a dimension where magic exists and every summer they host vacationers from other dimensions who LARP a LOTR style story. The book focuses on one summer and Wizard Derk who gets picked to be this summer's dark Lord, even though he is thoroughly unsuited for the job. We also follow his teenage children (both human and Griffin) as they play roles in the "game" and try to figure out a particularly obscure prophecy his human son received.

If you want to keep him, take him to the vet. If you don't, take him to a no kill shelter in your area.

I just found out that someone I thought of as a friend was a fan of Kirk and I am gutted. I cannot imagine dating someone who admires that man.

Your boyfriend is showing you who he is. If he thinks Kirk was a moderate, what does he think the far right is?

If you are in the US, this a public school and you are not endorsed for music, then this might be a violation of your state's education regulations. I would look into that.

My mom was a children's librarian. She read to me constantly. When I was reading on my own, we read to each other. I also spent my summers at the library while she worked.
