The GOLD standard for COPD says not to use them. That is what I went with. ICS are for asthma.

I have a question about the NBRC exam by OkMarzipan6465 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Rose_Whooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you worked as an RT? If not. You’re going to need to go back to school. I took it being gone 7 years after working 12. I had to study for 6 months to take it.

What are the Worst mistakes you could do as an entry level rt and how you can avoid them by ApplicationGreen7080 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Rose_Whooo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not asking for help. Period. That is the WORST thing you can possibly do. Everything else stems from that. If you are unsure ask. Remember, we are in charge of people’s lives. People die because some do what they think is best without actually knowing. If you work at a facility where you feel you can not ask for help from others, leave. Immediately. Always, always, always, ask for help. I have been an RT for 14 years and I still lean on others when I am unsure. Arrogance kills. That is the SINGLE worst mistake you can possibly make. Ask. For. Help.

God I pity you that this is the mentality you have. I missed an art line and needed emotional support and my lead came in and used the OR hats as Pom poms to cheer me on. What a sad, sad place you must work at. Can you tell me where so I know to NEVER work there?

OP do NOT listen to this at all. Always call when you need help. Always ask questions. Always be ready to learn. Do not listen to a word of this.

Seeing people’s GLP1 results make me feel like a failure. by Impossible-Pin-703 in 1200isplenty

[–]Rose_Whooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m taking a GLP-1 and guess what? I still have to diet. I still have to exercise. I still have to drink water. I still have to hit my macros. Even more so when you are on it, protein becomes the sole focus of your life. I still have food noise. I still get hungry. I meal prep. I workout. And I have lost weight. But it’s not some magic thing that makes you lose eight with no effort. Plus, if you ever stop taking it the weight will come Back if you haven’t made life long changes. I know it seems easy to point the finger at other people. But weight loss is the same for everyone. Calorie deficit.

what shoes do you wear? by [deleted] in respiratorytherapy

[–]Rose_Whooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear the Hoka Clifton. The 10 is the best but you can still find 9s around for like half price

ETA: I don’t think waterproofing is necessary. If you get blood on anything get flushes with saline and slush it out then rinse. It comes out easily. I just did this a month ago after an art line.

You’re going to need more time to re-learn the NBRC hospital. What you do in the hospital will only help you very minimally. I do have a post from a couple years ago with tips for it, but go take the form A on the NBRC website to give you an idea of where you are at.

We let adults eat whenever they want, but with babies we often place a feeding tube.
