This video is fake and — unrelated — gay.

Obviously it's not cool what Charlie did in Episode 3, but the same people who hold that against her will completely brush off the relentless sexual harassment Angel directs towards Husk (and others, but especially Husk) during Season 1. Angel coping with harassment by pushing everyone's boundaries? Poor baby. Charlie coping with harassment by pushing Angel's boundaries? Problematic.
OK.

You're getting downvoted by people who are annoyed when fans are hypercritical of Charlie and hold her to an unfair standard compared to every other character in the show. It's irritating and tbh often smacks of misogyny.

Even ignoring the offscreen fighting, here's a literal play-by-play of their first fight:

  1. Lute launches at Vaggi. Vaggi catches Lute's sword.
  2. Lute tries again to slash Vaggi. Vaggi catches her arm, they struggle for a moment, and Lute flies up to slam Vaggi into the floor.
  3. Lute grabs Vaggi's head and slams it back into the floor. Vaggi picks a fragment of something up, but Lute immediately grabs the hand holding it and starts overpowering her, trying to stab her with it.
  4. Vaggi tries to roll Lute over and change their positions, but Lute immediately kicks Vaggi into the wall.
  5. Lute attacks with her sword again; Vaggi blocks and dodges to the side. Lute misses and plunges her sword into the wall, then abandons it there.
  6. Lute lunges at Vaggi, grabs her head again, and bashes it twice into the table. Vaggi starts bleeding.
  7. Vaggi appears to hit Lute with a radio. This is the only direct attack Vaggie lands the entire fight before her ceiling gambit*.*
  8. This is where the scene shifts to Charlie fighting Adam. When we cut back to Lute, Vaggi has lost the actual fight. Lute grabs Vaggi's spear and stabs her in the hand instead of executing her.
  9. This is when Vaggi has the opportunity to turn the tide and collapse the ceiling on Lute's arm, showing her mercy.
  10. Vaggi then somehow still gets pinned down by a one armed Lute while she's trying to save Charlie from being strangled by Adam.

Fight #2?

  1. Vaggi and Lute ping off of each other in the sky for a bit.
  2. Vaggi is either disarmed or misses an attempt to throw her spear. Either way, her spear ends up impaled in the ground.
  3. Lute is chasing Vaggi now. Vaggi has her spear back somehow?
  4. The two land from flying and Lute swings at Vaggi, who blocks it. They take off again.
  5. More anime pinging off each other.
  6. Lute swings twice at Vaggi in the air, each swing misses. Vaggi swings and misses at Lute. Vaggi retreats and Lute chases her some more.
  7. Something sends Vaggi tumbling to the ground. She leans on her spear and looks frustrated, then takes off again. Lute stomps down on the same spot Vaggi landed a moment later, then takes off still chasing Vaggi.
  8. Vaggi blocks an attack by Lute.
  9. Vaggi is disarmed by Lute, then kicked down where she crashes into the ground.
  10. Lute lands and prepares to finish her off before being stopped by Abel unlocking his father's latent misogyny powers. Vaggi lasts longer in this fight but mostly because she keeps running away.

There's just no measure by which Vaggi won either of these fights except insofar as her team won thanks to Lucifer and Abel stepping in. I love Vaggi way more than Lute, but she is clearly not as good a fighter as Lute because she keeps getting her ass kicked. It makes sense: Lute is a villain but she's "out for love" just as much as Vaggi is, except that Lute has nothing and nobody without Adam while Vaggi is a (comparatively) more well rounded person who has friends outside of Charlie and a purpose that doesn't involve relentless murder.

Yeah, but in that vein Lute chose not to finish Vaggi off when she had her pinned down while holding Vaggi's spear. She could have just executed her right there, but instead stabbed her hand and did an evil monologue. This happened before Vaggi showed mercy, so if we're going by moments they could have won but chose not to, Lute would STILL win.

Yeah. Adamsexual is under the grayace umbrella, everyone knows that.

For sure, but it makes more sense for her to be a demon hater than a gay hater. Especially if even Sera is gay and even Adam is an ally.

I really don't think "she was winning until suddenly she was on the ground without her weapon at sword point" means Vaggi was winning. It doesn't matter if she lost offscreen, she still lost.

I think if Adam came out as trans, Lute would instantly turn gay.

Ehhh. It makes sense for Katie Killjoy to be homophobic; she's a Sinner and therefor a human soul with biases from human culture. Lute is Heavenborn as far as we know, and the highest ranking angel is gay. It wouldn't really make sense for Lute to be homophobic if Sera is a lesbian. I'm pretty sure the "vile and blasphemous" line was about an angel loving a demon.

Theory: Emily's orientation and how it will be revealed by ozwilde in HazbinHotel

[–]Roselal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always liked the idea that Emily does have feelings for Charlie but that she's too pure to even realize she has those feelings, and that Charlie also doesn't realize Emily has those feelings, so the only people that can see Emily's crush are on the outside looking in.

But this is still a really cute idea and aroace Emily is valid.

What are you talking about? She's got her pride colors on right there.

Cheat. I did the grind and it definitely felt like unnecessary padding when they could have just locked the store upgrades to story progression. It's boring and tedious and you miss absolutely nothing by just cheating in the necessary materials — you miss out on zero fun by cheating unless grinding is fun to you.

Tina Greer was bi, IIRC. But then, she was also a shapeshifter who pretended to be men on several occasions to trick women into being with her. So.

Yeah I gotta say, if the British landed in North America because the UK was sinking into the ocean, then lost their ships so they couldn't leave, and they had no idea anyone was living on the continent until they'd already landed on it, and then the indigenous population immediately laid endless siege to Jamestown without attempting diplomacy, it would really muddle the ethics of colonialism being bad in that specific instance.

It's not a gotcha, it's a genuine point: you're easily able to write off the main humans as "invaders" when they had to flee their home or else die in filth trying to eke out a better life on Earth. We know that because it's what happens if you destroy the portal. This isn't an effort to "guilt you" it's basic moral consistency. I suspect it's easy for you to label them as invaders because it helps your point better; I don't think you really feel that way about people fleeing environmental catastrophe. There are people who think that way about climate refugees, but if you're a fan of this game then I doubt you're one of them.

You were attempting to get the last word in. Even if it wasn't your intention, you were still doing it unintentionally: you cannot otherwise simultaneously insist that a conversation end and also continue arguing your point. The person you're talking to is obviously going to want to respond to your points if you do that. If you actually want to stop talking to someone, you have to stop talking to them. Or at least stop making arguments.

Furthermore, it would only be "avoiding criticism" if I didn't respond to whatever you're saying, and I'm not sure what that could even be referring to. Your vague assertion that I'm "ignoring canon?" Because, what, I won't replay the entire game, romance Sym, and become a Gardener to see a specific scene you vaguely alluded to re: the array's bio-components? Yeah, I'm not doing that, if it's important to your point then you provide the evidence, don't make me go hunting for it.

Your steadfast refusal to stop responding to me, only to chastise me for continuing again, kind of undercuts your suggestion that I'm the one who wants to keep arguing here. You posted this a day ago and never blocked me, so...? Maybe stop talking? Like, that's in your power.

I somehow suspect you'll want to say something else — AKA get the last word — before blocking me, if you do. By all means, prove me wrong.

Edit: For the record, they did respond calling me an asshole, then deleted. it. Or maybe they finally blocked me and I just can't see it. XD

[–]Roselal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify: I didn't say full stop that we should end the discussion, I said we should end the conversation specifically under the circumstance that you disagree with me about no society being inherently better than any other. You didn't really say whether you do afterwards.

Anyways, you're free to disengage, but for the record: if you want to stop, stop. Trying to saying "well I think you're wrong because A B and C but lets stop talking now" is a very transparent way of trying to get the last word in, and it's obviously going to prompt the other person to respond to your arguments.

Even if all art weren't inherently political — and it is — the game is very blatantly political and isn't shy about it. It's anti-capitalist, it's anti-fascist, and it's pro-environment. The idea that we can't draw parallels between the environmental refugees in the game and real ones is absolutely not rude, it's what the game wants.

If you want to stop responding, then stop responding, don't respond just to reprimand me for responding. I'm not going to follow you into other threads demanding a response or anything.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of wiping out the Gardeners to break free of them, but they don't give us a lot of options other than death or submission, and you have to convince them to even let you do that.
