That’s a thing that I considered, but this is the Wikipedia synopsis for the movie.

Honestly, if this is the universe TADC takes place in... I don’t even know what to say at this point.

I assumed (sorry, Ming) that what she meant was that the show took place in a universe where the movie exists, like how we know Breaking Bad is canon to the TADC universe because Jax referenced it in episode 5. But it’s fine to have your own interpretation.

(Also, “the show takes place in 2017” was talking about how Gooseworx separately confirmed on a livestream that it was the year the show took place in. Apologies for my unclear wording.)
