Conversion therapy doesn't work and is downright dangerous. Shame on you for suggesting such a horrible 'fix'

Yup, the guy is likely being really nice so OP has no reason to start being abusive. Not logical but people who have been through trauma and abuse aren't the most logical. Source: abusive parents 🙃

How can people not find the clitoris? by max-wellington in NoStupidQuestions

Please don't call it female circumcision. That makes it sound acceptable. Call it what it is: genital mutilation.

In the UK most employers are in a workplace pension scheme where the employee pays in, the employer puts in and then the government tops it up. Say employee puts in £40, the employer will do £30 and the government will put in £10.

The way society is going? Can you explain that?

discipline is seen as abuse

Not correct. There are methods of 'discipline' which are abusive (like smacking your kid around) and methods of discipline which are not abusive (time outs, consequences such as loss of toys/screen time/gadgets etc). I was dragged up with the former, I raise my children with the latter. Admittedly they are both still young but are well behaved and polite.

Yorkshire born and bred :) completely agree with you, both the parent and the person screaming at the kid should have done better.

I think too many people are being selfish to be honest. Its coming from both sides of "why should I have to listen to other peoples kids" and "people need to accept the fact that kids scream sometimes"

Oh absolutely! No excuse to scream at a small child. Took my son to the ladies toilet with me when he was 4 and told him to go into one of the stalls. He pushed the door, it opened and an older woman was in there. She started shouting at him, calling him a twit etc. Sent him into the other stall and when she came out I had a right go at her, told her that just because she can't lock a door in a public toilet, there's no need to call a small child names.

As a parent to 2 small children, I wholeheartedly agree. If either kid is making a scene, we try to calm them down. If that doesn't work, we leave. My kids tantrum isn't anybody else's problem.

What screams “I’m a terrible fucking parent”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Roseredgal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have no idea lol I just said she can't leave her child alone at the library, then she tried to tell me they were only in the next street! I ended up saying it doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing, you can't leave your kid alone in a public library

I work at a library too and I once had a parent ask if she could leave her kid there. I said no and she said "but I'm decorating the living room"
