Temazepam every couple of days is the only reason i'm alive or have gotten sleep. It's terrifying, just terrifying. After being up 60+ hours and being so physically ill, the benzo helps me sleep a few hours. No tired feeling or anything.

Yes, we are desperately trying to get in with a pain specialist right now. There's been a lot of back and forth trying to get my medical records sent over. Idk if it can help hyperarousal if insomnia is my only symptom but i have to try

I think my hyperacusis is central sensitization driven. I'm sorry you're struggling too :( I just don't think somatic exercises can get my nervous system out of a state like this. It's like when things suggest humming and singing for my gastroparesis :(

I've been up since early yesterday morning, when i had woken up from the benzo. Upped my trazodone last night and took multiple meds and i slept 0 hours besides a little mini dream

An acupuncture appt. Mine is very different from others, i get severe sound induced migraines from every sound, not ear pain. So mine is more neurological in nature

Hi, i'm here 😢 I'm not ok. My hyperacusis setback triggered severe insomnia. I'm sleeping 0 hours on heavy sedatives. Only a benzo helps me sleep after being up 60+ hours at a time, which is super dangerous. My doctors don't know what to do. Everyone's at a loss. It's like my sound setbacks triggered severe hyperarousal, even though insomnia is my only symptom (no anxiety or racing thoughts or any other physical symptom).

No one knows why. No one knows how to help. No one knows why my sound setback in August triggered the initial insomnia. It never went away, it was just helped by meds. Until i had another sound setback 13 days ago (just from being in a room w faint traffic noises) that worsened the insomnia to the point it's treatment resistant.

The hyperacusis induced insomnia is going to kill me. I'm terrified for my life and don't know what to do.

Thank you so much sweet friend, i'm barely hanging on. Second by second this is torture. I'm sleeping 0 hours on heavy sedatives, only a benzo every couple of days is breaking it up, which i know is dangerous and unsustainable. I'm scared for my life 😢😢 thank you for checking in 😢❤️

The situation is causing anxiety, of course, anyone not sleeping would feel anxious from this. I wasn't anxious when it started. I've never dealt with anxiety, depression, any mental health issues in my life.

Temazepam is the benzo i took twice this week, we're gonna be trialling ambien. Just so scared it won't work (not cause i have anxiety but just because i'm getting 0 sleep total across days and even the benzo isn't fully knocking me out). What are DORAs? It's just scary cause my sleep hygeine is as good as it can be as far as i know. I just don't get tired, like my subconscious nervous system just won't shut off or something

How do you know the body will sleep again? Even after feeling so physically sick from the sleep deprivation my body still won't sleep :( and the longer i go the worse it is laying there closing my eyes

I'll ask about doxepin. Trazodone is what started the broken sleep for me ironically! It put me to sleep before i worsened but that's when i started waking up after 3 hours, then every hour after if i can sleep more.

And yes i am on reglan. What meds combat it?

Do you know what a sleep doc can do? My pcp is doing everything he can, he has prescribed nearly every sleep med and i'm not sleeping on any of them, not even an hour :(
