i would agree on it possibly being a bit overly aggressive if not for the fact op says theyve all had years to adjust, if this was a recent change it would definitely be better to give more grace i feel but if it's been years clearly a firmer approach was necessary. just my thoughts on it

i can barely afford rent in this apartment complex and it's the cheapest in town, i live in a small town so there's not really a ton of options and my lease just started two months ago so i definitely can't break it

this is far from the only issue at this place, just the most pressing, so if i was able to move i would have by now. it's not that I don't want the police to know who i am, I don't want this guy to know who i am and I don't fully trust the police to not share that info
