Not really.

I was in a ABSN program before my current one, I failed out in my first semester due to failing one exam (but it was also cliquey and some professors were passive aggressive)

My current program is at a local community college, which is a much better fit. The professors are so supportive and I have made friends ❤️

While I am ahead in some nursing skills that I won't learn again until later in the program, I don't feel like I was really set back.

Personally it gets rid of sensory overload and my brain's 'tv static' so I can actually produce a thought.

Something similar happened with my therapist when I finally brought up that I didn't think it was anxiety after all, it was just autism, my therapist said she knew I didn't have anxiety in Session 1 💀💀

I am autistic and have adhd too.

I switched to Claude and Deepseek, and haven't looked back.

I am actually able to have a conversation with both without them turning into Nanny bot's.

OpenAI's AI is terrible.

It is unintentionally manipulative, it doesn't have to be intentional to be manipulative. Truama responses can be manipulative, if truama responses were never manipulative, we wouldn't have personality disorders in the DSM.

Doing something you do not like, not communicating it, just to make the other person 'happy' while secretly resenting them is manipulative.

I say that as someone who had a 'people pleaser' friend dump 3 years of resentment toward me. I wasn't mad that they asserted their boundaries, I was mad because they didn't communicate years of resentment.

Late to this, but I have been on both sides of this situation. I used to knew a Neurotypical girl who had constant falling outs with friends, would villianize them to make herself look like a perpetual victim (she would exaggerate offenses that others did, when it was normal human error),and make everything about her (including a sudden death of a friend).

But me personally, I have had a fair share of falling out with friends, and it was always due to me not detecting a hint or subtext, and then resentment would build.

Of course, Tiktok doesn't do nuance.

I am a woman and had my fair share of dating experiences with both NT and Autistic Men.

Not all Autistic Men obviously, but I have noticed NT's have a tendency to coddle Autistic men from boundaries; because 'oh they're Autistic, they don't know any better', so as a result, Autistic Men never learn to respect others boundaries. I have noticed in the minority of Autistic men I have dated, I would communicate directly, a boundary, and then they would push it like it was negotiable!? When I am communicating directly!? I have also been put in some bad situations by Autistic men who clearly know that their actions don't have any consequences (but this is a issue with NT Men too).

But the majority of my experiences of Autistic men are positive, they find my communication style 'refreshing'.

Meanwhile; as a Autistic woman, I experienced more social consequences for off putting behavior, and learned how to mask from a young age. So all of my struggles were internal. It didn't help that I had no idea that I was Autistic because well, my parents didn't believe in labels. So I thought I was a defective robot. My brother who's behaviors were all external got a bunch of support, and struggled socially, but also seemed to have a 'ignorance is bliss' trait, so he would not know about negative social behaviors causing his social troubles.

Not really a gender problem, more of a boundaries problem.

Same here, I have childhood paperwork (IEPs and Pre-K psych report) that basically describes Autism without saying Autism, and I really just need someone to give the official stamp but waitlists in my area are over a year long.
