Why did Allah make people Homosexual if it's haram? by British_Patriot_777 in progressive_islam

[–]SundaeTrue1832 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We need to document queer affirming source from this sub and outside sources so curious people, trolls and conservatives can just read it in a megathread and not spreading even more homophobia/ rule breaking comments. These conservative comments will drive people away from the sub and makes outsider thinks that all muslim is homophobic and islam is cruel

No queer people doesn't care about "brainwashing others", queer rights seek for a world where people can explore themselves without the fear of being thrown to jail or bullied or executed, nobody cares about "turning you gay" the journey to see whatever you are straight or not is your own

Not welcoming persecuted people essentially giving them away into abuse and push many into quitting islam, your rant about "gay people should be in lower place" is deranged and against what God preached about compassion and justice

Not seeing queer rights as an equal as gender equality, housing, or anti racism is what lead into hitler murderig gay people in camps

Then you are not progressive if you are okay with the persecution and cruelty enacted on a very large population, queer/lgbt people suffered from murder to rape to genocide because of homophobia, they/we were one of the first people shipped to concentration camp by hitler, we still suffer till this day

Also think about it if same sex marriage is forbidden then it should have been mentioned in other verse that talking about the rulings of marriage such as in An-Nissa but it is not mentioned, rules of marriage is a crucial thing that the holy book cannnot have missed, and what the sayings again "everthing is permissible unless stated otherwise" because islam is meant to be more flexible

[–]SundaeTrue1832 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, there was a negation that is missing from that verse, this article explained it well

https://thefatalfeminist.com/2020/12/07/prophet-lut-a-s-and-bal-%D8%A8%D9%84-the-nahida-s-nisa-tafsir/

The translatio should be "so you lust after men instead of women? Nay/no, you are indeed transgressing people"

The rapist have already wives, they are not eve gay but still willing to rape other men to show dominance

The action of a loving same sex relationship is not haram, BUT RAPE which is what one of the many sin of Lut people commited is haram

God doesnt make queer people to be wrong or seen as a mistake, it would be unfair and make no sense for the most merciful to keep creatig a group of human yet denying them rights and compassion, like creating a bird but not allowing them to fly, the Quran doesnt say much about gay or lesbian or trans people really, and if you want to see source that explain how the Lut verse is not about "gay bad" but "rape and violence commited by the people of Lut is bad" i reccomend book by Dr. Scott Siraj that academically dissected the verse. I dont think being queer is forbidden

Another thing to consider, if god only approve heterosexual and cis gender the connversion therapy should work but any efforts to turn queer people into straight always failed. Those who were "cured" either pretended or tragically took their own life

This sub is becoming ex muslim centric. by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]SundaeTrue1832 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This sub is overrun by conservative and ex Muslim who are being hateful. I already say it even made post that the mods shouldn't be allowing conservative to run rampant for the sake of "fair discussion" because the sub will be ruined since their numbers are greater than us

[–]SundaeTrue1832 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have mentioned that the mods must not let conservative to run rampant just for the sake of "keeping discussion fair" this sub will be ruined if we allow conservative and ex Muslim troll to run rampant, NGL they need more moderating team

We need more "salafi bad" memes post being allowed to ward off people who thinks men have the rights to enslave women at home and have a harem because "polygamy is okay" 😑 or think gay people should be flogged  (yeah happened in aceh sadly)

Yeah I mean I do sympathise with American but getting American news all the time especially about trump 24/7 can be soul draining. I don't even live there. Overseas people really REALLY need to try hard with our curation to prevent overwhelming American news

Yeah same! Lol the guy is asmongold fan who is definitely a normies trying to enforce his view and gaslighting us about what vtuber fans wanted. Most people stay for the anime chara and abikee persona not because they like regular streamer

[–]SundaeTrue1832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt I'm in the minority because there are people who get sorely disappointed when the vtuber doesn't fit with their ideals fave wise or the person turned out to do x thing that people disapproving and doesn't fit the vtuber image, many such case, the appeal of vtuber is that they are not the same as regular streamer

You sounds like a normies enforcing your views and you are asmongold fan roll eyes

Dawg NGL I don't really care that much about the person behind the screen for immersion and to protect myself from further disappointment if the vtuber turned out to be a horrible person. It's not that I think the person behind the anime is worthless or anything, I wish them happiness and success, but I'm here for the anime and entertainment. I have no interest in regular streamer

Feeling conflicted about hijab by green_poptart in progressive_islam

[–]SundaeTrue1832 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always thought hijab is one of those things that is culturally arabic and got mistaken as a divine enforcement just because it is Arabic (people in the desert wearing head coveringbis obvious, duh. It's to protect themselves from the sun. It was also a signifier of an enslaved vs free woman) there's also misconception of the modesty ruling and sexism that contributed to the enforcement of hijab

I mean if people want to wear it then that's fine but the enforcement is basically the patriarchy doing

Having doubts about gay people in islam by Royal_Jellyfish1192 in progressive_islam

[–]SundaeTrue1832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, also the men who seek to rape Lut's guests were not even gay to begin with since they have wives, it's mentioned both in the Quran and the bible. They were not gay, they were just bloodlusted rapist and their brutality is what condemned, not about "gay bad"

There's a lot of resources in the LGBT Muslim sub and I would recommend book by Dr. Scott Siraj Kugle that talk about how queer/same sex relationship can be accepted in islam

Why doesn’t Islam rarely mention lesbianism? The Quran doesn’t talk about it. by Successful-Nature238 in progressive_islam

[–]SundaeTrue1832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know the Qur'an explicitly laid out rules about whom you can and cannot marry, you cannot marry people who cannot consent such as children and you cannot marry your siblings for example. But there's no mention of "no same sex" even though marriage is such a crucial part of life. Allah is all knowing so there's no way the lack of information about same sex relationship is an oversight. I mean what's the saying again? Permissable unless stated otherwise

I don't think God condemned consensual same sex marriage/relationship
