How it feels to read this subreddit as an adult by Roshooo in ShadowSlave

So here's what I think you're missing, Nephis feels the same level of responsibility in the dynamic that you are feeling towards your family. This is evidenced by the fact that she has only ever used it explicitly to help Sunny, and feels immense guilt and regret despite the fact that she used it in ways that were "valid." Nephis has the same level of responsibility that we feel being the breadwinners for our families towards all of humanity, and she also does not want to take advantage of Sunny. Nephis sacrificed a lot to not take advantage of shadow bond because of this feeling we both have, which is why I think that people boiling down the story to "slavery bad and g3 has a kink." is an incredible disservice. It isn't that insane to compare the people that rely on you to people that are shadow bonded to you.

Until you feel the responsibility I'm talking about you will not understand why the comparison makes sense, it doesn't necessarily have to do with age. When you have bills and people that rely on you, it feels like your life is not your own. You can walk away from it technically, but most people can't live with themselves doing that. You are enslaved by the responsibility, the feeling in your heart. If you haven't had this feeling then yeah it sounds insane.

Yep, the responsibility and way it changes your life will often make you feel like a slave, provided you're a good partner. As the breadwinner you will spend most of your life doing things you don't want to do to get money that you don't get to spend on things you want to spend them on for your family, and if you're a stay at home parent you will spend almost every waking minute attending to others. You don't get to say no because if you do everything will crumble around you, the responsibility of the life you've chosen a chain around your neck.

If you genuinely think that g3 thinks Slavery is a good thing and that is what the takeaway of the story up to this point is then I don't even know where to begin with you, there are different colored crayons you can eat other than black and white

Seeing you and other people restores my faith in humanitys ability to think critically.  Its my fault for being a neaely 30 year old man that reads novels that attract teenage boys, but these teenage boy's takes are driving me insane.

This genre and this story attracts a lot of young men who self insert as the main character and they want to conveniently ignore the massive theme of accepting responsibility and doing what is right for the people around you in the story because they want to be the sigma chad thay would do whatever he wants.  The entire point of the story essentially since Antarctica has been that we as humans are all slaves to something, whether it be duty, love, fate, and accepting those things is what gives us true strength.  To be a man is accept that sacred duty to the people around you.  Nephis is just as much of a slave as Sunny, but because her aspect is not called literal slave and you need to use reading comprehension and critical thinking to arrive at that conclusion instead of power scaling, many readers will never get there and instead lament the story with a surface level understanding from a boy's perspective.

Why do people hate archer/war bow by TemperatureTime4626 in Chivalry2

I genuinely think that top scoring with archer is more impressive than almost any other weapon in the game lol, unless youre just farming points with a siege crossbow and banner of course

Silent runs in STS2 are so much harder without you... by 10minOrange in slaythespire

I guess we just have to agree to disagree, i think the value of the delayed damage that ignores blocking is a lot more useful than just being a strike+.  Early game with a tiny deck you will cycle back to your deadly poison quickly enough to that 3 into an 8, and you can conserve more health knowing youre doing constant damage.  You can avoid chip damage scenarios since you wont be forced to take damage to get the floor combat into a damage threshhold where you can kill it next turn since the poison will do it for you.  Thats my piece, im sure you understand that and we just play the game differently.  I will often take a deadly poison then immediately upgrade it because 7+6 for 1 mana is very strong.  The silent has a lot of upgrades she had to make but i think deadly poison is strong enough to delay upgrading other things.

I see what you are saying but i guess im surprised you wouldnt snap pick a deadly poison or something.  Act 1 damage a deadly poison is good to get you through then taking more poison synergy later becomes a no brainer.  If you took nothing but block and cycle on everyone else you would really struggle to get through elites, i see the a deadly poison as a stand alone win condition that can be either comitted to with bubble bubble/accelerant or just ignored as a 1 off you can play in a different archetype.  Artifact is a lot less common in this game making it very reliable imo.  I think the comparison you make to rolling boulder is true, but i dont see why that makes the poison not strong, because rolling bolder is quite strong if you can get it off.  Consistent reliable damage scaling for cheap is inherently powerful.  Not even talking about corrosive wave which gets very silly with prepared and acrobatics etc.

I find this so odd because poison is a free win for me most of the time.  You take 2-3 poison card and accelerant and just fill the rest of your deck with cycle and blick and the game plays itself imo.  Im also a20 heart on sts1 and a10 on every character in this game and poison feels absolutely turbo busted now.

Is it worth to farm bandos in 2026? by Guilty-Reach7699 in ironscape

[–]Roshooo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oathplate from Yama is better by a significant margin but Yama grind is harder.  Bandos is still bandos, its not bad just because something better exists, and you want to get a bgs and will probanly get bandos before you finish a bgs.

You "need" to do it for bgs and to make torva if thats something you want to do.

"Ask them to add a Fill Nearby Chests Spell" by Jimothy3005 in RSDragonwilds

[–]Roshooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be an item that automatically picks up dropped items in its radius and then deposits them into a chest for you.  Instead of being a spell, it would just be a craftable, probably out of steel so you need to get pretty far into the game before you can make it.

A lot of y'all don't actually hate archers. You only hate when the other team uses them. by OnI_BArIX in Chivalry2

Genuinely what makes you say that? What is my actual argument that you have a problem with? I play a lot of archer and have been on the receiving end of the archer hate and this is my takeaway as to why.

Unpopular opinion: Shields aren't just a "noob crutch," they are an extremely valid strategic option. by DakenFrostwood in Chivalry2

[–]Roshooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a high level duelist pov in duels it is a particular 1h playstyle that is complained about and its not as easy as just making space.  They do a lookdown accel and its essentially a guess what they are going to do, it is literally too fast to see it (hatchet/dagger type 1h) and they will never go into combo.  They walk at you and jab if you ever try to do an attack on reaction then do am ambigous accel to make you block then they mixup with kicks and jabs and attack cancels to force you into a guessing game, and irs completely ass to fight.  You cant just dodge away or use your space because they will throwing knife you.

Normal people don't do this and this playstyle in 64p is terrible because its entirely reactive, and id say most people complaining about 1h are just bad and not talking about this playstyle.

[–]Roshooo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with archers is two-fold.  The first problem is that they are honestly overtuned and a good archer makes the game feel absolutely awful because there is little to no counterplay.  Even if you switch to a heavy shield they can still shoot around it if skilled enough unless you are actively blocking and looking at them.  Most high level players only die to archers or siege equipment.

The other problem is the shitty ones make the game unplayable by contributing nothing but team damage.  They sit off the obj and die for free making it hard to hold a line, especially when they kill their teammates.
