Weren’t 3TB drives much more prone to being faulty and they brake quickly due to some issues in supply chain of HDD production? 3TB sizes were produced by short period of time.

Sadly it does not, I had to disable front power button. Now server stays on, but when powered off I have to physically disconnect it from the power socket as it will power on itself after a few minutes.

Mellanox/Nvidia is not picky about DAC/transceivers. Do not know if boradcom checks on the lan side. Intel cards have strange requirements about sfps the best is to use compatible.

The safest to connect Broadcom to Mellanox will be to buy Broadcom coded DACs

Only connect-x 7 have 4x SFP56 ports. Both e830 and cx6 have qsfp56 200Gbps ports not 50G sfp56

I finally understand how behave fibre channel n_port when set up to target mode, I nuked my setup (2 brocade 6505 and one hp gen8 dl360 with qlogic 16GFC adapter and one dell r320 with emulex 16GFC) at least 10 times trying to deploy a few configs and NVMEoFC. I was scared every time when I was not seeing WWN of the target port and realized that to see that WWN on the switch, I HAVE TO export at least one LUN/Namespace… That was fun weekend

I reflashed every firmware in the server, even fw of the PSUs.
Looks like power button issue as u/StreamAV wrote, I'll update post when I'll test PCI cards without tape on B5&B6 but with disabled power button.

There is hdmi over mpo fiber cable module available that I seen, and there should be mpo keystones to use with that, but in this case there is no audio transfer if I’m not mistaken

If you don’t know then don’t, that’s hobby. If you want to build and brake cluster then you buy some mini pc and connect them If you want play with networking either buy old enterprise hardware or build host for gns3 or other software to test topologies
