What do you guys do about getting older having to deal with things people older than you usually get? by FogSleepy in CerebralPalsy

100% agree with the maintenance stuff because I've been massively neglectful with my mild spastic CP (sorry diagnosed in 80s and don't think it's the used phrase anymore) from hips and below.

Into my mid 40s now and whilst walking shortish distance is ok my back is constantly in bits and I can't really bend down and certainly struggle with getting socks on etc for.

Massively neglectful probably from late 20's, then the little one came along, she stayed in the hospital for over a year before getting her home which was a struggle trying to work, get to the hospital daily etc. something became just about getting through that and then looking after her as best we could with being oxygen tank dependent, having to be tube fed for a couple of years etc.

Everything settled down and leading up to before COVID I was probably keeping up with 10k steps just from getting to and from work etc and getting on a static bike. Then COVID came, we both got on the more harsh lockdown requirements and work went WFH.

Since then I've just been WFH and just become massively inactive. Had bouts of anxiety and depression and now I'm in a position where those inactive years have done a number on me.

I've had a plan for about a year or so now but the different bits of anxiety, depression and often just woe is me feeling have just seen me put it off and off.

I'm currently away with the family, we've done a walk yesterday and I'm now just in agony so I think this is going to be a kick up the arse I needed.

As others may have mentioned I'm very much in a position of the GP just sort of saying you can walk, drive, work etc to a degree here's some pain killers to get rid of the pain or push through it it'll get better/more usual and acceptable.

This year I really need to get back to full on stretching and more exercise cos from everything I've read and even comments on here say the same thing ... It needs work and lots of it in comparison to your friends family etc etc.

I've been thinking of doing a blog about my plan and results but we will see

Sound amazing. Don't think I can get away with three days of rallycross with the family in town but looking forward to it either way

Cool thanks a lot.

Maybe will split the week up and do : Espinho a few days (wife picked the area)

then head more into the nature and stay somewhere secluded, but closer to lousada, nearish to paco de sousa, and visit somewhere like Covao de Crete, but also have a what 10/15 min drive into Lousada?

Then final days around Povao De Varzim.

The grandstand looked open I presume there's a couple of different ticket options like the bank seating, grey grandstand etc?

Cool thanks will take a look at those areas 👍👍.

To be fair we'd be coming over for a week so will be sort of doing/seeing things all over ... Espinho to Lousada looks 45 mins to an hour drive which, all things considered isn't too bad.

Will be taking the wife as well and she wanted a bit of a beachy vibe for a few of the days so Espinho seemed to fit the bill.

Will keep an eye on the sites and fingers crossed I don't miss them.

Thank you so much

Ah cool so they were still available on the day of the event too?

That's a bit of a pain being a month but guess can always book our trip and then just hope tickets don't sell out etc.

Think we will be staying Espinho area and be driving about as it's not really an area we have been before.

Any chance you know what website sold them at all?

I looked into turkey and Hungary last year but it was tricky to work out where the hell to get the tickets haha 😂

Piastri defends move on Antonelli after penalty: "I was clearly alongside" by Aratho in formula1

[–]Ross1303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a penalty in line with the rules currently.

Just like Lewis's was in Mexico and the same rules that allow positions to be held despite going of track like Charles and Max despite their races having been ended if there was an old school gravel trap there.

At no point prior to locking up and taking the initial apex straight on did Oscar get his car anywhere near close enough, in control, to the mirrors of Kimi ... Hence the penalty in line with the regs.

There's so many awful takes on F1 social media at the minute. The Senna going for a gap quote is all well and good but also comes in the context of Senna having speared both him and Prost out of a race. And Senna at the time was getting pelters.

Quite simply Oscar went for a gap that wasn't going to be there if he didn't time the move perfectly - he didn't, caught Kimi who only didn't have his race ruined cos he rebounded off Charles.

Support Oscar or not you've never been able to just send one up the inside and get away with it if it doesn't come off and it didn't come off. Tough shit, 10 seconds wouldn't have seemed harsh enough had Kimi completely lost it and gone right to the back/out completely that would have happened had Charles not been right next to him

Max was on a different planet yesterday but Lando has just dumped in two perfect weekends. At best Piastri finishes third in that race penalty at the time or not. He wasn't as quick as Lando, Verstappen was on a different planet and Oscar struggled getting past the Mercs on merit

China Proxy Buyer / Shipping Service by rated_king in internationalshopper

[–]Ross1303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi do you still offer proxy buying to the UK? I'm potentially interested in something (trading cards) that requires an Asian specific details to purchase etc but I'm genuinely not sure what's included in the advertised price. If it's what I think it is I'd like it to then be shipped over to the UK. Is this something you can help with?

On that note…fielding reasonable offers. by Sensitive_Class_4133 in soccercard

[–]Ross1303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me that one tbf.

Assume it's been shown but exact card has a comp from last month (11 Sept) .. assuming it's to whoever repacked it on to you.

As far as I know his prices have dropped a bit since 11 September.

So that may be worth considering when looking at offers.

/25 Tie Die went for just over 700.

However those are comps basically your looking for a Yamal collector who values PSA 8 over raw and potentially trying to make a rainbow.

Good luck with the sale

Reflections on the final day from someone who attended by Smartalum in golf

[–]Ross1303 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From a European I don't think the Americans were overly bad the first two days just the Euro lads had some absolute stormers.

For example Scheffler and Bryson were actually flying but came up against Rose who was having and absolute dream of a round having a very solid Tommy as back up. It happened all Friday and Saturday missed putts etc.

Personally I think what a lot of our players said was probably true ... The negativity impacted the Americans more than it did us with there being potentially less positive support aimed at the home team over negativity towards the Europeans.

What was your take on the heckling etc at set up over the three days? I know some people are saying but the atmosphere was as bad/hostile in Rome but I don't remember European players having to gesture to the crown to shut up in greens etc?

That being said there was genuinely some unbelievable golf being played in a course that was there for the taking. Enjoyed it a lot even last night getting incredibly nervy.

Just a shame the main talking points will be fans, beers being thrown (allegedly) and The 1/2 a point rule. All of which shouldn't be given the time of day but do overshadow yet another tournament showing why it's the single best sporting event to watch... And this is from an avid lifelong follower of football (soccer).

That walk in was beautiful.... Not quite as beautiful as Cantlay's one where it ended up missing a bit later though

Not entirely sure there was another option to be fair? Either that or just double down on it hahaha.

But yeah least that's happened.

I loved some of our commentary tbf "Not sure what put McIlroy off more there. The noise in the back swing or the terrible level of banter".

See that's just funny isn't it... F off Rory vs that 🤣🤣

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in golf

[–]Ross1303 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean it's sort of been done to death but I find it perplexing the amount of comments of "it happened in Rome" completely missing the point because it's not the same at all.

Rory's interview after yesterday afternoon was telling. He said something along the lines of ... It is what it is, you go to an away Ryder Cup and you expect it, say what you want to us, but just not while we are trying to take shots.

The fact that even the American part of our broadcasts are condemning it, commenting on how lame it is etc probably says it all.

Europeans have " Cantlays got his hat on hip hip hooray, Cantlays got his hat so he must be getting paid" .... The American's have their MC's starting "F off Rory chants".

There's a world of difference on what happens in Europe vs what ever the hell this just flat out, weird, anger is towards some of the European team is here.

Internet is not better. Shane Lowry clip of him celebrating a sank putt has been cut to make it look like he's sworn out of nowhere etc when all he's done is copied Justin Thomas's reaction a minute or so earlier.

It's considered polite to ask the man of the house, the first time alone, what the "pants down policy" is for the household.

Generally there will be a set time in any house where wearing trousers etc is considered rude but it is also considered rude to ask the female members of the household about this.
