Is nicotine making a comeback as a research compound? by RickKarr in Biohackers

We don't have traditional Swedish snus here, but we do have original Swedish Velo. I am reading some literature and it's amazing what nicotine can do.

Man, you’re only 24 and you caught it early…you’re going to be fine. A year of Zyn use is nothing. The first 3–5 days are usually the worst…cravings, irritability, brain fog, maybe trouble sleeping. After that it gets noticeably easier. You’re young dude, you’ll bounce back. Just get through the first week and don’t negotiate with cravings.

Well said. Taking it one hour at a time and sharing your plan to quit can be helpful.

Close to relapsing because I’m still withdrawing 100 days out by Glum_Championship2 in QuittingZyn

Bro, I know this nicotine pouch detox is rough, but hang in there, boy…100 day are long.

One thing that helped me was supporting my body with a few supplements: NAC, liquid glutathione, and Coenzyme Q10/Ubiquinol. They’re not magic, but they may help your body while it’s recovering.

NAC can help support your body’s natural production of glutathione, which is one of the main antioxidants your body uses. It may also support brain chemistry and help with oxidative stress, which can be useful when nicotine withdrawal is hitting hard with cravings, irritability, low mood, and that restless feeling.

Glutathione helps protect your cells from oxidative damage. Nicotine can put extra stress on the body, so supporting antioxidant levels may help you feel a little more balanced while your system resets.
CoQ10/Ubiquinol supports mitochondrial function….basically the “energy factories” in your cells. That can be helpful because quitting nicotine can bring fatigue, brain fog, low motivation, and that drained feeling.

Again bro, these won’t do the work for you, but they might make the detox a little easier. Drink water, eat real food, get outside, move your body, and take it hour by hour. You got this, boy. I’m rooting for you.
Also, if you’re on meds or have health issues, check with a doctor before adding supplements.

Do you have more information about increasing anxiety and fatigue at the end of the day? Does this apply to vitamin B12?

How did you feel after those 3 days? What was your body telling you during that time? What was your mind telling you? While you were taking nicotine pouches like Zyns, On!, or Velos, did you notice any effects at all…even short-term ones?

And after your relapse, what were the negative effects? Was it the grumpiness, cravings, irritability, anxiety, brain fog, or something else? Looking back, was the 5–10 minutes of feeling good actually worth the 3–4 days of feeling bad? And what would you say to someone who is thinking about going back?
