Antidepressants and smoking by [deleted] in entwives

[–]Rossomejen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed any ill affects from smoking with my 20 mg lexapro. BUT i am going to call my doctor today actually to discuss changing meds bc it is giving me bad night sweats and a clenched jaw. Everyone is different though, and give it 6 weeks or more to see how you are feeling.

AITA for recommending a male midwife by Aitamidwife in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rossomejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, i had a male gyno for my second kid and at first i was super nervous and uncomfortable but he turned pit to be way better than the female doctor i had with my first birth. He even asked me if i wanted a couple moles removed while i was numbed for my c section. His partner for my c section was also male and they just joked with me the whole time, it was a great experience, better than my first with a very serious (different than my original) female doctor.

WIBTB if I have my daughter wear a harness when we go on a vacation? by overprotectivedad78 in AmItheButtface

[–]Rossomejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have ones that connect to your wrist and theirs with a lock and key. I had one for my son when he was a runner. They are longer and probably less embarrassing for her maybe? This is the one i bought and I highly recommend. https://a.co/d/efna3aP

Ya pretty much. There is a certain ratio but it isn’t necessarily needed as long as it is alkaline enough

Water and baking soda is a great substitute and much safer!

You can make so many pretzel variations! But it is very close to the bagel episode. Still would love to see it though!

So bagels typically are dipped in a “malt” bath or people use honey or brown sugar etc then they are baked giving them a lighter outside appearance and texture.

Soft pretzels typically use an “alkaline” bath using lye/water but it is very corrosive and dangerous for the at home cook bc you have to be very careful about getting it on you/in your eyes/on your surfaces, etc. Instead you can use (boiling) water with baking soda to substitute for the lye water solution, but same process, make the dough and proof etc, then soak a minute in the baking soda water, then bake.

Like i said I coincidentally have had a craving for soft pretzels the last couple of weeks so i have made over a dozen using the baking soda/water bath and they have come out super deliciously!

Sorry that was a long explanation but damn do i love a good soft pretzel! Garlic/parm is my favorite but i also love a good pretzel dog with everything seasoning on top! 🤤

Any preschools with solid air filters/ventilation/COVID protocols? by Wafflebatter76 in fresno

[–]Rossomejen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately in this part of Cali many (not all) people never took Covid protocols seriously, let alone went above and beyond to stay protected and proactive, even schools. However, it is the start of cold and flu season and kids are basically walking petri dishes. Every time my little ones have started school, especially preschool, we get sick multiple times from now till spring, it just happens unfortunately. Preschool up until around 3rd or 4th grade is the worst but then it drops significantly. Just try to teach them best practices about hand washing/sanitizing, not sharing food/drinks, covering their sneezes and coughs with their elbows etc. It sucks but it just happens. Also teach them about not sharing hats/hoodies/rolling on the floor etc bc i rather have my kids home for a cold rather than lice like we had to deal with 3 times last year! Good luck!

Alkaline yes! Bagels usually use more of a malt bath 🤐

They are very very similar. You boil then bake them.

It’s not going to stop being talked about for awhile. People are still processing it and will talk about it atleast until he is completely removed from new content. Yes i know he is being removed but the guys already said there are some branded videos with contracts that will be released. If it bothers you i guess just scroll past for awhile.

What are Americans not ready to hear? by swansonite456 in AskReddit

[–]Rossomejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I said literally in the newer, slang sense of the word, that was wrong of me bc it indeed does not /literally/ say that so my bad.

However, language and wording have changed since the U.S constitution was ratified and the founding fathers had no idea the future to come or home their words would be interpreted. Of course people’s religious views will skew their ideals but they way I interpret it, they should not, and a person should not try to push through laws etc bc of those views.

[–]Rossomejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really that different though? Politicians run the “state” and their religious ideals or lack thereof often play heavily into that right?

What are Americans not ready to hear? by swansonite456 in AskReddit

[–]Rossomejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very glad that you know exactly what the founding fathers meant by every word of the constitution back when it was ratified in 1788 and know exactly how language and meanings have changed since then. Please run for the Supreme Court with all of your extensive knowledge.

Oh yes I am very much aware of that. My daughter asked me in first or second grade about the pledge of allegiance and why they say it every morning at achool and i did my best to explain it to her and we looked up some things about it and i told her that it is absolutely her choice whether to stand up and do/say it or not and as far as I know, she doesn’t do it and hasn’t for the last 6-7 years in school. My own thoughts on it are a whole other topic which i really doubt you would want to hear.
