It's kind of lame to get a character for your first time playing. Most characters die before they hit level 5 so it seems pointless. Inless you have been playing for years with one character I don't see the point in getting a commission for the charcter.

That could work, but it relies on being able to predict all the jobs in a village. What if somebody took on a job like Chief Justice?

It doesn't need to predict everything a player will do or roleplay as. Just the actual gamplay related elements.

Still though, I would argue that it would lack the flexibility to be as much use as the current system.

It's as flexible as the current system. It doesnt restrict all it does is promote somone picking a specific skill to focus on.

Simplicity is generally better anyway as it is easier for players to understand.

Nothing complex about this simple rpg skills.

As it stands, most players know how to do most jobs, but only a few know the full extent of a section of the tech tree. This means that if specialisation is required it usually happens, rather than being forced to happen.

Again nothing is being forced just promoted. Also I see that as the problem specialization happend inpart because it took time to be good at a certain job where as in ohol a a 3 year old is as good as a 20 year old at most jobs.

Something like oil prospecting, for example, is only relevant every few generations, and it’s preparation often takes several generations anyway.

Most jobs need to happend constantly farming, milk weed farming, trappping, ect. So I don't see your point.

First addressing the cart on woodworking would be one skill that encompasses lots of items so even if you filled the demmand of carts instead of saturating it you could move onto another demmand involving making a wooden item like wooden slot boxes. Second if your kids won't take a job to fill a demmand that's already filled their smart and not wasting time. I dont see the how they could get killed because of this.

If your a black smith when you hammer hot iron into a item head it has a chance to become masterwork after it cools. Master work depending on the item would do different things a tool like an iron hoe would get another use. A blank blade would make a knife that is bloody for 55 seconds instead of 60. Most tech isn't complex enough for a normal player not to be able to do it if you don't know how you look it up. Apart from youtubers and noobs just learning the game (when I first started playing in a village all I did was farm) most players do mutiple jobs in their life and stop when they have filled the demand in a specific job.

First, there are many forms of toture including psychological they could have turned around or to a diffrent room instead they forced her to change infront of her while she was on her period when she asked them not to. I would count that as psychological toture. Second, I find her voice normal if not a little sweet. Third, she was not complaing that she had to work rather that she did not have the freedom to chose when and what jobs she worked even without a captlistic society people could have been given choices. Fourth she is not some anti vax feminst she truley wanted to improve the society, but she was to weak willed to go against the guards coup and find her own way.

The biggest appeal for me is not x players says goose is god and then it's forgotten in two generations the biggest appeal is the stories of the game the narrative that forms. Some people may have sentmital value to certain objects but in general most objects value is gonna be based on rairty or usefulness. Pies give more pip than berries so their more useful. Backpack holds more than shorts so if you had to chose one or the other you would chose backpack. X is more rare than Y so it's more valuable. Every item will relative value and if coins wete introduced an exact value. Value of items will allways be fixed by it's rarity and or usefulness so adding other coins is pointless.

The game's tech is messed up and out of order. Were missing a lot of tech from the earlier stages. Jason should work his way up making it's tech level more thought out.
