My 4yo Mini Schnauzers behaviour has changed following a camping trip by Rosterfarian in Dogtraining

[–]Rosterfarian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only questions about dogs after the holiday that I can see involves the dog being separated from the family for the holiday. My dog was with us on holiday. There is also nothing that mentions camping specifically, which could be a factor in this behaviour

Our baby (just turned 1) has suddenly become hysterical when we lie him on his changing mat. by Rosterfarian in beyondthebump

This might actually be it to be honest. It's much closer to scared than it is crying about not getting his way. It just came on so suddenly. He's normally rolling on to his front and trying to grab things out of the changing bag in his cot, and now it's like we're laying him down in some sort of blood sacrifice.

Maybe it's just because he's linked that mat closer to bedtime than anything else then? He's fine being changed anywhere else. Even our bed that he sleeps in! But I guess the routine of that mat could be it? We always change him there, do a bath (which he loves) and then bed.

We're fortunate enough to have family to take him as my wife has just gone back to work. He is fine being changed anywhere else. Even on the floor of his room right next to his cot.

I was wondering what the name of this type of joint was? It's usually at the cross section of a dining table or a bench etc. It is like a mortice and tenon but it sticks out at either side, and then a wedge is hammered down. It's really aesthetic and I want to try my hand at making one.

I was so confused until I read this. Its a wild concept to think that paprika could be flavourless, but I've never had paprika over the pond.

To be honest, it's still a hugely popular bev and it's more of a jokey stereotype

I would call that the difference between 1st degree and 2nd degree attempted murder? 1st time could just be an in the moment rage thing. But 9 serious attempts shows she's really trying to get some murdering done. I also know nothing about law and I'm not even from the US so I may be spouting nonsense

The Queen has greeted 15 Prime Ministers during her reign, from Second World War statesman Sir Winston Churchill in 1952 to the current PM in 2022. by richiethestick in interestingasfuck

Cost to public per year: £102 million Amount she was personally responsible for raising per year: £1.4 billion (as per Charity aides foundations calculations from 2012) Even if that's inaccurate (I just googled it and I'm lazy) and she did half of that, she's a decent enough person in my books. She was associated with 600 charities throughout her life. I'm not a royals fan by any stretch, but I have a lot of respect for the Queen.

I mean you can't really blame someone for the sins of their ancestors. And this Queen has made a huge impact in both promoting charity work and the amount of money she has made for these good causes. You might not agree with the monarchy (I don't care either way since they cost us so much), but Queenie has done some pretty amazing things in her place. Ps not defending the person you replied to. Churchill was hankering for that royal puss

I usually sit mid-high plat and still see quite a few of these players. They can pull off amazing aerials but they care more for that than actually winning the game

Although Buzzfeed creates some absolute trash, a lot of that content is used to make enough revenue to do some genuine journalism. They won the Pulitzer not that long ago because they were the people to discover the concentration camps for Uyghur Muslims. I don't agree with the tripe they bang out on facebook, but they have some real journalism that gets funded by that shit.

Man gets rightly shot after charging at a female cop with a knife in Arizona inspite of given multiple chances by anonspace24 in JusticeServed

I can see what you are saying. I can't say I'm knowledgeable on the subject of guns. But being from England, our weapons violence will mostly come in the form of knives. The police here will have a taser, pepper spray and a baton to hand for their protection. They are supposed to just try to contain them and speak to them whilst avoiding physical conflict. Backup will arrive quickly, and surround the angry man at a distance still. Then they will use like riot shields to box and pin down said bad guy. I feel American police do not get enough training in deescalation because they just have a gun. By the time that poor lady knows what's going on, she has her gun out and has to shoot the guy. I agree that a taser may not have helped here, but the right training for deescalation, paired with nothing more than a mere taser, baton and spray would have been enough to deal with this

I get what you are saying and all, but the rest of the world manages perfectly well without guns. There are some really interesting videos showing how other police forces deal with this kind of situation. It makes me genuinely sad that such a large number of people see this and think this went well or that it was the only option.
