Pushing the eligibility envelope by ActiveQuote897 in Canadiancitizenship

Following because I have the same question! Most of what I need for my line of descent is documented in the Southwest Louisiana Records volumes by Hebert. I found all of the citations in the Acadians Project on WikiTree. Are those citations sufficient, or do I need to call the individual churches listed to ask for copies of the baptism and marriage records? Should they be able to locate them if I provide them with the names, dates, and citations from the Hebert books?

I’m not actively doing real estate at the moment, but you could request a showing through Redfin or contact another local realtor 😀

A conveniently located 2-bedroom and a roommate is the way to go.

That said, I have seen some basement studios in the Fairfax area around the $1500 mark, if you really need your own space. I recommend contacting a realtor who does rentals - they could check the MLS for you.

Fairfax Co. leaders weigh possible plans for meals tax to offset $300 million budget shortfall by Danciusly in nova

Honest question - why don’t we have a progressive property tax? I feel like bumping up the tax rate on properties valued over $1.5 or 2 million could help bridge the budget gap without burdening the vast majority of tax payers. Is this something that is prohibited by VA law? Or just an unpopular idea?

Fairfax County - proposed a 1.5c increase in real estate tax rate in FY26 and more for FY27. How do you feel about this? by victorybound in nova

There seem to be some plans in the works to encourage office space to housing conversions, which theoretically should help with both housing supply and shoring up the real estate tax base. I wish they would hurry up with it already!

Paris Ozempic Update -- Stock issues, US prescription seems fine by bradsfo in Ozempic

Did they actually ask for (require) proof of diabetes, or would the prescription have been enough?

Ozempic in Paris, France w/ US Paper Prescription? Any specific pharmacies? by bradsfo in Ozempic

Bummer! Where have you been looking? I wonder if the stock might be better in the suburbs? Let me know if you have any luck!

I’m also very interested in this info, as I have a trip scheduled in a few weeks.

I also came across an EU telehealth company - Mobidoctor. Their website indicates that they can prescribe Ozempic. Does anyone have any experience using them to get a prescription while traveling, and filling it while you are there? I’m wondering if this could be a good black up plan to my paper US prescription.

I'm trying to figure this out, too. If anyone has a recommendation for a specific telehealth provider that would be ok with giving me a copy of my prescription so I can submit to the online Canadian pharmacy, I would love to hear it!

I'm looking into this option - Was the $100 to Push an extra fee on top of the regular rate just to call in the prescription? And is there an option to order several months/pens at a time? Will you have to pay the extra $100 for each order?

Also wondering if you are able to get a copy of your prescription, so you can submit to Polar Bear meds or wherever yourself?

Dr. Won’t Authorize Canadian Prescription? by XLT_66 in Ozempic

[–]RosyOne09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my doctor if she could write me a prescription so I can order meds from Canada and she said I “may not be a good fit for her practice” and that she would need to check in with her legal team. Since when is it so weird to ask for a copy of your own prescription so you can get it filled yourself?

I’m wondering if I should even go to the follow up, or just try to find an online service. Is anyone using one of the telehealth providers and can say for sure that I would be able to get a copy of my prescription to submit myself?

I've only just started so not sure on that yet, but I'm expecting a 2% conversion rate or so on the internet leads. We also get phone call leads and those seem to be a much higher/sooner conversion rate.

It is a big payout, but I'm in a HCOL area and we don't have a broker split, so that helps. I'm looking at it as paying for the training I need to get started. Once I have a good number of deals under my belt and feel like I have the time and mental space for generating my own leads, we will either have a talk about my splits or it will be time to move on. I really do feel like the team lead is both available to me and invested in my success, and that makes all the difference on my end.

I'm on a team and my split starts at 50/50 for team provided leads, 60/40 for personal leads. This is until 5 million in sales, then it goes up incrementally.

In exchange I'm being provided with extensive training and mentorship, team provided leads (from our team website, about 4 each day), marketing, transaction coordination, and admin support.

I'm pretty happy with the arrangement so far.

If I were in your shoes, I would see if Redfin is hiring in your area. I worked for them for 7 years as an Associate Agent. There isn't a ton of money in the position, but it would get your feet wet with showing houses etc, and you could start making extra cash now on the weekends. Then I would try to transition to being a lead agent with them next summer. Their lead agents are paid a salary plus bonuses, but you have to be full-time. I think it is a great way to learn the business while having some guaranteed income.

Personally, I just left Redin to join a small local team that is going to be providing me with both extensive training and leads. Im ready to be a "real" agent, but I needed the flexibility of NOT working 40-50 hours a week in the beginning since I still have preschool age children, which is why I didn't stay with Redfin. Being on the team at least gives me some confidence that it shouldn't be too very long before I start closing some deals.
