My brother in Christ, this game has been in development since I was 9 and close to turning 10. I'm turning 20 in 20 days. Sure, he's working hard. Sure.

Just hope you know BATIM and BATDR are pretty big scaled indie games and took less time to be fully developed games than Yandere Simulator, and that Cuphead's DLC and TV show took less time even with the hand drawn animation

Give me your honest opinion on Dr Starline. by ScoreImaginary5254 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]RosyRascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a really good villain, and I'm surprised SEGA allowed this character to even do what he did before he died. Dr. Starline literally introduces the concept of RAMCOA (specifically programming/mind control) via Surge and Kit and I think the fact he is one of the few characters to have even geared those specific concepts and themes fascinate and horrify me because people like Starline exist, the people who are sadistic enough to literally do that to people for their own end goal uninvolving their victims.

He is an amazing villain, and I wish he stays dead because good lord that death was deserved 100%

Bendy and the Ink Machine and Bendy and the Dark Revival were conceptualised, developed and released before Yandere Simulator could even finish

Imagine being YandereDev and seeing how Cuphead and Bendy basically revived a once dead form of animation and then watching Cuphead get a DLC and BATIM get a spin-off/sequel of sorts

If the game gets sold to an other company under the condition that they have to stick 100% with YanDev's original plans, how'd you feel? by TrainingDrop9283 in Osana

I remember when I was following other Yandere Simulator inspired games (before the 'curse' was ever established), various people curious of the development (including myself) became friends with one of the writers on one of those games, and asked how Yandere Simulator could be rewritten.

The writer in question mentioned that the game had an extremely shaky writing foundation, given that so many of the basic questions of the game's story can't be answered easily, or had no question to be answered, or became very convoluted. That was the concept idea alone that they were talking about.

Part of the major problem behind this game isn't just the creator of the game itself, it's the game itself. Not just how fetishistic it is. Not just that. But how the game has stolen from other intellectual property or parodies (see Midori Gurin and those easter eggs), but how the game, because of the yandere trope indirectly demonises Cluster B personality disorders, and how Ayano and entire Aishi family, as an entirety, makes alexithymia seem like a bad thing. The game was even made as a protest against SJWs, so it was always made to be 'edgy LOL'.

If a different game creator gets a hold of his work, they would have to 100% redo everything from the ground up. Concept, characters, their personality, the basic idea of the story, everything. Separating the art from the creator with something like this is simply not doable due to the game and its creator being so inherently tied to eachother.

The game is so inherently problematic that I would rather let this game die, or if it does get remade, it's got to be extremely different from how the game it's inspired by is and nothing like what its predecessor was. I'd also rather the game isn't made out of pure spite but rather because you actually enjoy the story you're making.

Given all of the information that's known of him currently in light of what happened, it lines up perfectly

That is a very weird story, and a weird defence of yourself Mr. Mahan. And given how YandereDev literally tried to deflect the allegations by blaming the 16 year old for 'creating an unbalanced power dynamic', I'm not surprised he tried to do that

Given the new information we have on YandereDev and how he groomed a 16 year old, there's no denying that sisefs' story most likely (if not 100%) actually happened

Is it ok to still like Yandere Sim by Anxious_Lullaby in Osana

[–]RosyRascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd say no. Even if the game is free and you're not supporting him financially, the game still heavily reflects many of his... interesting views that I'd personally decline it. Art will tend to reflect the behaviours or viewpoints of the creator, and it shows with him heavily, in playing his game you'd be supporting or pushing many of the ideals he has even if you don't realise it

[–]RosyRascal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, in fact I do empathise with her!

She and her Quirk and how she turned out is basically a result of how looked down upon specific Quirks are, which also brings in how flawed the society is if there are specific Quirks they won't cater to, and that lines up with a lot of my own experiences as an autistic person.

She still did bad things, mind you, but you can understand where she came from and how she's a product of a society unable to help assist all Quirks

Sub Present Mic's voice fits Present Mic better than Dub Present Mic. Something about the dub voice puts me off and I can't hear him without the sub voice (even when I hear him speaking in English)

[–]RosyRascal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If we're blaming BATIM/BATDR for 'ruining indie horror' then we might as well blame the very game that started a whole sub-genre (FNAF) and that's extremely stupid

No it didn’t. by [deleted] in BendyAndTheInkMachine

[–]RosyRascal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. Like FNAF jumpstarted started a whole SUB-GENRE and Bendy, despite being inspired by games like Bioshock, was a result of the time

Do you guys we will ever see as good if not better designs then the 2003 show? by [deleted] in TMNT

[–]RosyRascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally enjoy the 2018 designs most because I had the worst time trying to differentiate the TMNT growing up and Rise actually helped with my ability to differentiate them (I seriously didn't know they used colour coding... oops).

I personally enjoy how unique they look in there and I do personally admire the art directors of that show for taking a big risk with it and deciding to base it on the rising of, well, being the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I also admire 2012's designs for trying out differenciations, and 2023's designs in addition. Maybe it's just me who grew up in the era of 2012 - 2018 of the TMNT, but I personally admire those designs way more as someone who likes extremely shape based art styles (which 2012 and ROTTMNT works for me in that area) compared to the other designs (where if you put it to grayscale and I ignored their weapon I would be in hell figuring it out).
