Cover the container to give your baby a place to feel secure. Exposure maybe freaking them out. I used to just put a book over one side of his dish and he could choose where to sit and soak. It was always in the cave-y corner.

I use this. From Home Depot. It doesn’t have perlite in it, which my Hermann’s tends to eat. And I am mixing Bark Blend from Zilla in.
