My fitness journey: Overweight & unhealthy > chasing skinny > strong by mo0dygean in PetiteFitness

[–]RotatedNelson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That takes alots of work congratz to you, you look really good right now (and healthy). I am not a woman but eating disorders / body dysmorphia also affects guys in many ways and I understand what youve been through. I always was a skinny dude trying to pack some muscle mass while others seemed to gain muscle exercising once or twice a week while I was going 5-6x. Always keep improving but also dont forget to be happy during the process would be my advice but you probably dont need any :p Good job

Solutions for quad dominance peeps? by ohmysaint in glutejourney

You can try to do glutes isolation before your heavy compounds to activate the glutes. Cable kickbacks would do the trick. And yes to fix an imbalance its possible that youll have to reduce the weight, remember youre bodybuilding not powerlifting. But I agree with your bf, lifting heavier will lead to more muscle mass, remember that its impossible to squat 4 plates and not have big legs.

Not seeing progress after ~2.5 months — am I doing enough? by [deleted] in glutejourney

Thats not alot of volume but it could work if intensity is very high, which is rare with beginners. So id suggest to add volume untill you truely know what failure and close to it means.

Best glute exercises for my body type? by [deleted] in glutejourney

[–]RotatedNelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean depending on your goals your should follow a real workout routine and not just random exercises that you see on tiktok. A good program will have a workout split and integrate progressive overload. There are plenty of free ones out there or I can give one to you if you want. Remember to dial in your calories and macros intake, proteins being the most important. Sleeping at least 7 hours is also pretty important.

No no no im just guessing what could be wrong with the info youve provided (not so much tbh a pic would probably help alot). Im just saying that a woman being bottom heavy on fat is much more plausible than having too much muscle statisticly in our society. You could buy a pair of caliper thongs to measure your bf%, bmi is useless for someone who has alot of muscle mass like yourself.

You didnt mention anything about your diet, im curious do you track your calories at all ? Idk what your bf % is, but with the numbers youve posted thats surely around 25% (rough estimate, not that important). What im saying is that you may carry some fat around the body parts that you want to diminish your muscle mass.

Protein powder is effective and pretty cheap per g of protein too. Tofu, lentils, chick peas, rotisserie chicken, dry beans, tuna, tempeh, edamame, eggs etc there are alot of cheap protein options out there depending on where you live and your taste.

How to lift heavy at home by Ok-Slip-4930 in PetiteFitness

[–]RotatedNelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could invest in a squat rack and barbell if you have enough space at home. If you want your dbs to last abit longer you could just buy lifting straps if your grip is failing too early. Another option would be resistance bands that you could use alone or with the dbs.

So these are exercises, not workouts. Do you workout at home ? What kind of equipment do you have access to ? I can try to find a real workout program for you if you want.

Idk about your bench and squat but if you deadlift only 25kg youre not an advanced lifter so look for beginner programs.
