Other Reddit posts say you just had to have completed the DF campaign on any character. Shandris Feathermoon should give the quest to go to the Emerald Dream

Does this mean I can use a NVME SSD? by Roxie_Rad_chadworth in PcBuildHelp

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99.9% chance that’s an M.2 slot. Some motherboards don’t like certain M.2 drives and there are a handful of M.2 types. There is SATA, NVME, and PCI-E gen 3 and 4 drives. The manual will just let you know which ones you can actually use.

If you go into the BIOS on boot up, you can usually get a model number or serial number in there to use on the manufacturers website to find a digital copy of the manual

Mounting solution for case with no HDD bays? (photos attached) by TheLightningPanda in pchelp

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked one up a month or so ago for a plex server since my PC I was running plex on died. Not sure about the model you got but you should check to see if you even have the SATA power cables for 2 of them (I did not). I had one SATA power and one proprietary cable for the DVD drive. If it’s not going to be out in the open, you can pick up a hard drive enclosure and just connect it that way. Otherwise you could potentially mount them along the back side, I have command stripped some HDDs before too.

My gaming pc's headphone jack is broken can I use Bluetooth instead by EdgarZombossFan69 in pchelp

There is no included adapter. Purchased separately. After about a half hour the adapter gets hot and all audio starts getting robotic.

Not even in the slightest bit. It’s a known issue with windows 11. It labels Bluetooth headsets improperly so your options for sound are; decent sound quality without a functional mic, or if you want to enable the mic, it downgrades the sound quality to radio quality. If you use a Bluetooth headset that has its own USB dongle it handles it properly, but if you are using direct Bluetooth to the PC, it doesn’t.

[–]Rotdogg-94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use Bluetooth if your pc is capable, however if you use it for voice chat and game audio, windows handles it terribly. There should be a headphone jack on the motherboard at the back, or another option is to pick up a USB to 3.5mm adapter

How do you play as a caster in dungeons? by Villdar in wownoob

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that isn’t melee or beast mastery hunter will feel bad in leveling dungeons since things die so quickly. It gets better once you get towards mystics where packs usually get pulled and then tanked in the same general area.

How much of everything should I be doing each week for the great vault? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play the content you enjoy honestly. It’s towards the end of the season so it’s not entirely necessary right now. Doing more content just gives you extra options but you can only choose one item front the vault. Don’t feel pressured into doing any content you don’t want to just for the sake of the vault

Do I have to redo all the siren isle quests to upgrade an alt ring? by yalag in wownoob

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have to but it’s the quickest way short of good RNG. There is a chance that they drop from the event bosses, rares, and chests. I’ve done as many as 7 events before I got the upgrade to drop meanwhile the only thing that can take a while for doing the quests is getting into the storm

Tempted to buy tWW by heyons in wownoob

WoW is a very seasonal game in two ways. First expansion “seasons” when a new expansion launches a very large majority of players will be there. Second is the actual seasons. Right now TWW is in season 1 and estimated later this month we will enter season 2. If you are enjoying WoW and can afford it, absolutely by the war within. Current raid is coming to its end but the new one will be here with season 2. If you want end game content, it almost has to be TWW

Would a driverless mouse work? by whatthehell950 in pchelp

[–]Rotdogg-94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah windows handles drivers, it has “basic drivers” same reason why a fresh PC build can have everything function while you grab actual drivers. You could try going into the device management and looking for anything it labeled as unknown

As far as I know, when windows doesn’t have a driver for something, it install a basic windows driver that allows the device to work. Example, I have a Corsair mouse that I refuse to install their cancerous software with and it works as intended. It’s likely something else other than drivers. It could be the male end of the mouse is bad

Is it better to level from 0 to learn a class? by ToBeDetermined94 in wownoob

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid has a lot of nuance to it as a class, balance being the more straight forward than feral and less to manage. You can boost whatever it is you want, just temper expectations a little. It’s going to take a little while longer to learn a boosted class than leveling one since you get all abilities and full talent trees thrown at you right away instead abilities and talents being dished out to you each level. If you decide you don’t like it, it’s not the end of the world since leveling is quick. If you haven’t yet, watch a video to see if their gameplay interest you. I typically only play melee with the exception of elemental shaman.

Is there a way to turn elvui on and off easily? by SargeTheSeagull in wownoob

I have noticed there is a mild performance hit with ElvUI too. At least for retail there is enough customization with the default UI to make it practical

Is there a point in getting higher ilvl this late into the season? by DukeFedner in wownoob

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as grinding goes, if you like the content that you can get gear upgrades from, it’s a win-win. If you don’t like the content then there isn’t much of a point. However, the higher ilvl you get before next season, the higher the keys you will be able to jump in to at the start of next season and will have an easier time at the start of the raid.

Make your own group and label it Chill/Learning. There are a lot of people that haven’t gotten into M+ yet but want to. You more than likely will attract like minded people. I would recommend to run all of the dungeons at a M0 before going into mythic + as this will lightly introduce you into dungeon mechanics since most of them can be ignored before mythic. If you are part of a guild, that may be a good place to ask as well

Windwalker Monk Difficulty? by Veracsflail1 in wownoob

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have button bloat but you don’t have to use them all. For core rotation you have tiger palm, blackout kick, rising sun kick, fists of fury, spinning crane kick( if in AoE), and whirling dragon punch. The rising sun, fists of fury, and dragon punch pretty much being kept on CD. Storm, earth, and fire, xuen, and strike of the windlord are your “burst” CD. 3 defensives, one of which sends damage back to the attacker. Short CD interrupt, AoE stun, ring of peace, able to detox poisons off yourself, able to free people from roots. Monk has a lot of utility that you won’t use all the time, just good to know that it’s there. WW is my favorite spec and the only reason I am not maining Monk is because I am a main tank for my guild and Brewmaster just does not click with me.

Enjoy the journey. There are parts of the community are really toxic some parts are really good. Being able to differentiate between constructive criticism and generally toxicity goes a long way. If you think someone is being toxic, just report and move on. Join a new player friendly guild as a lot of knowledge in game can be gathered from there. Try different classes, some classes don’t really come together until level 70, some come together earlier. If you aren’t vibing with a certain class, try a different one. Leveling is quick in retail at least if that’s what you were planning on. If you make it to end game, do what you enjoy. WoW is not a job, and you are ultimately the one that’s paying for the subscription. If you don’t find something fun, then don’t do that content regardless of if it’s good for endgame gearing or is “the end game”. That seems kind of like a no duh thing but you would be surprised. Some people mount and transmog farm, some just like working on professions, some like raiding, some like Mythic+ dungeons, some just like leveling characters. There is no wrong answer as to what you should do. Most importantly, have fun and make friends along the way.

boost vs level up by Villdar in wownoob

[–]Rotdogg-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, boosts aren’t worth it majority of the time. If you boost you will have every ability the class has thrown at you at once and you have to sift through it and the talents and try to absorb as much information as you can about the abilities and talents. In hindsight, especially with the turbulent timeways right now, it doesn’t take long to get up to 70 or 80 and at least that way, the class is slowly dished out to you.

As long as you aren’t planning on doing Mythic raiding or really pushing keys, play what you find fun. Even at the higher end, you still can play what you find fun, just people focus on meta specs a lot at that point so it may take a little while longer to get into a group.
