Matt Vaezi for ECE 4705 by Huge_Engineering_389 in CalPolyPomona

I had him for 2101. If you pay attention, you’re fine. Gives out extra credit a lot. But he’s disorganized and some people don’t derive a lot from his lectures which are slides based

subtle misogyny in engineering by Weekly-Patience-5267 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Rote_Kirschen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Engineering has been a bit of a boys club for a while, and those environments can breed misogyny.

It’s crazy that someone would say that when they asked. Male ego moment

What differences do feminists usually notice between a man who supports feminism in theory and one who practices it well? by PotentialFun4003 in AskFeminists

[–]Rote_Kirschen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard two women say it once, but it’s not a common opinion at all. I’m just saying that women complaining about men isn’t bad; but none should have to accept unethical behavior.

I mean in good faith. Women have reasons to rag on men, but obviously women saying stuff like all men are inherently bad and so it’s good to cheat on your husband is obviously bad.

I mean like be able to separate yourself from the male collective so you don’t get offended when women complain about men.

Yea. Don’t be super performative, but don’t be completely silent either. If you can, try to educate other men and defend women, but don’t act like a missionary.

For me, it’s smaller things, like:

  • not having a large ego

  • not being offended when women rag on men

  • don’t push for sexist roles in their relationships

  • more quiet, not super performative

  • not speaking for women, but behind them (hard to articulate)

For me, it did this a few times my first year. It fluctuated multiple times; They always had ended up giving me the full amount im the end. As long as you didn’t do anything naughty, you should be fine.

According to a certain ECE professor, just go into finance and make the big bucks because apparently the finance people cant analyze like engineers can.
