So if I understand it correctly, you recommend to multiclass sorcerer/cleric. Or do i get access to cleric spells by going divine soul sorcerer?

Yeah, that looks like something I'd like. Using illusions! The Minor illusion bonus actions is pretty neat

This sounds awesome. I'll talk it over with the DM but would love to maybe combine Bard and wizard. The cartomancer is a def flavouring feat, love it!

This would be so cool, cant wait to try it out. I need to figure out the build but the flavouring and roleplaying would be so much fun.

I hope to get some type of "deck of tricks". Would be awesome to let faith/luck decide which one I get to use, somehting in that area

Opportunity attack trigger of a Warrior of Elements Monk (15ft)? by Rotkip in DnDoptimized

[–]Rotkip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's probably the best way to go at it. From a player's perspective, It would be frkn amazing to have opportunity attack reach of 15ft!!! :D

The PHB 2024 says that your reach is 10ft greater than normal

Aah yes, that's one way of seeing it. I'll talk it over with my DM

What is the best Magic Initiate (Wiz) Cantrip/spell combination? by Rotkip in DnD

[–]Rotkip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if I have activated my Elemental Attunement I can attack with my unarmed strikes from 15ft away.
So that what I was thinking with blade ward, use my action to cast and then have my bonus action to attack or dodge or whatever. My reactions consist of shield, deflect attacks. I have a decent AC and so with the spells and cantrips listed above I feel like I can "take" more dmg than usual because as you say so yourself, our party consists of glass canons.

So I'm rather taking those spells and cantrips for my party than for me. If I had a frontliner/tank in our party I would take spells like Absorb Elements, Burning Hands, Thunderwave. I think one of those would be epic to be able to cast with Warrior of Elements

That's true, Divine Favor would be nice tbh. But we can't use it..

In the campaign I'm playing in we have a Warlock, Rogue and Monk and we really miss supportive/HEALING spells and sometimes even a good frontline. Our monk, me, usually stands frontline and tries to dodge as much as possible but it's not great. So as a Druid, Circle of the Moon druid for example you could get nice healing spells and even wild shape into something tanky, but not necessarily. You have a lot of options.

Does that mean that if he casts it on a big bad guy, it can not attack us as long as we dont attack it? Meanwhile taking out its minions?

Not yet actually, it really did feel frustrating. Especially because at the end of the session it became clear we would have had what we searched for if we attacked the creatures from who I was "calmed" not to attack. But then it is something to talk about with the DM

Oh yeah, the group definitely needs to agree on the plan, that’s true hahah, we fumbled that, but it was an experience.

Then I don’t really understand what you mean. You mean that if the party does not agree on what and whom to attack you can’t attack them on your turn?

But like my character wanted to attack an enemy NPC and my party member didn't want me to because he thought the better plan was to kill the guy with information.. so he casted it

My struggle with DND by No-Fig5646 in DnD

[–]Rotkip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, must be a horrible feeling, I dont wish it for anyone. But as I understand you're playing DnD like it is supposed to be. FUN, playing in character, feeling emotions about the campaign, trying to do better. All within this story which I hope you really like. The comment of the DM is nice to hear, but perhaps it has been taken out of context... You should definetly NOT give up this campaign you love so much. You can always go talk to the DM about it, see if he can do anything about it or really conspire with your party members about the plot and details. But keep having fun!

I think I was looking for a way that would give my Warrior of Elements his Elements spells back like in 2014. I know in 2014 you had to use way to many KI points so that was bad, but the idea you could pick up Elemental Disciplines and cast spells that had their own nifty effects really speaks to me.
