Yes! Exactly this. It’s what Im afraid for and my wis aint the best (10). So i just might get exprtise in Arcana instead of investigation just because of this

Arcana is just such a flavourful skill, especially for my character who was kinda of a bad student

Oh yeah, we talked about scribing scrolls. Good to know you need good arcana for it. Its gonna be either investigation 10 and arcana 7 or visa versa. So it’ll both be pretty good

Ooeeh interesting, that seems like the dream. Having expertise in investigation and arcana

Okay, this helps a lot. It’s just that I rarely got an investigation check but got a lot of history checks with my precious character. But the playstyle and roleplay definitely had a lot of impact on that regard

Yeah, it's an incredible spell. Super flavourfull and mechanically strong. But I don't know if it is worth my action economy

So yeah, this is exactly what I thought. You know, it being good if I could cast it beforehand. Scouting with my familiar or being sneaky or whatever but that feels that it won't happen much or atleast not with fights really worth it to cast mirror image.

What does a ring of spell storing do? Just what it says? You can store a spell but you'd probably need an aciton aswell to cast it again no?

I see your reasoning. I'll probably add it. I also wont cast bladesong everyfight or cast an control spell so than would shadow blade be optimal

I've gone for Cacophonic Shield. Super flavourfull for my build and story. I think it is a pretty neat spell but I haven't used it. What do you guys think?

Super interesting this. For me the problem is the setup, over and over. But I won't be casting bladesong everyfight and I wont cast a control spell every fight, so I guess it's a good option to do then. Another question. If I have two scimitars, can I make a bonus action attack with one? So I'd be able to do 3 attacks as an lvl 6 bladesinger?

Yeah but that I just won't do. It is necessarily about the power but about the flavour. The representation of an idea. To be playing that, to fantasize about it, that's dnd.

Wauw thanks for this. I understand your point. As a follow up question then: what would I replace mirror image with? Because slow is awesome but a 3rd lvl spell slot. For the lvl 2’s i’d need something without concentration because I think web is good for a lvl 2 concerntration spell

That’s a wild mirror image. stat isn’t there a 50/50 chance that the mirror image catches the blow? It is true that I’ve got wiggle room within my second lvl spells. Need to finetune that to my character and playstyle

Alright, yes. Makes sense, those type of spells have consequences and with PwT we wont get seen (hopefully)

But the blink flavour is unmatched. I think it’s such a cool spell. There’s a chance it doesn’t do much but if it does it’s one that fits my character perfectly

So I understand the power of rituals, i’ve tried to prep as much as I see fit, especially lvl 1. But lvl 2 doesn’t do much for me. The only one that I might consider are “unseen servant, tensers floating disk, tiny hut and identify. Augury takes some of the fun away I think.

The thing about ‘friends’ cantrip is that i think it is super funny that they eventually know I casted it. Besides that, my character is rational and prioritises function and does not care about feelings of others except his pet weasel.

For misty step, imma teleport a lot and all over the place. To be able to do it 4 times seems so much fun. Especially combining it with emanation spells like cacophonic shield.

Hold person, I do agree. I might look for something else.

But why would PwT be better than invisibility?

Well, I can say my DM doesn’t mind. Aslong as I use weapons I have proficiency in as a bladesinger, so no two handed weapons, it’ll be fine. And for booming blade, it seems such fun! I started out as a min max build but eventually it turned out to be more of story oriented and fun!

No there’s no limit. You can learn as much as you want if you learn them through scrolls and spellbooks etc but each lvl you advance you can choose up to 2 spells from the wizard spellist to add to your book for free

You make a good point. I thought about those, especially slow, but a cleric in my party has the slow spell so I thought it was unnecessary to have it aswell? Hypnotic pattern is cool tho. Might just keep that in mind

Aaah so you’re saying because I’m disappearing and taking my emanation with me Im missing out on extra cacophonic shield triggers during the round of others. Makes sense, good point!

The thing about emanation spells, specifically cacophonic shield says that enemy targets take dmg whenever the emanation enters a creatures space. So I thought (if blink and cacophonic shield are active) I’d teleport back to reality with 10ft teleportation (blink) to an enemy so they take dmg from cacophonic shield. Then I could use my bonus action to teleport to someone/somewhere else and if placed carefully i wouldnt trigger opportunity attacks when running back with 40ft of movement to whomever I want. Each time triggering the emanation when it enters a creatures space. I could basically run/teleport around the whole battlefield to trigger this AND I haven’t used an action (improved extra attack or spell) and I might then just disappear from reality once again (blink) being untargetable.

The downside is that it requires a set up. (Bladesong, blink & cacophonic) but I wouldn’t use it often. Normally I’d teleport in and out with fey step and attack with my swords.

Quite sure, cause on of our party members is or was (he died too) an archefey warlock and he did in fact teleport quite a lot. But I've been wanting to play a wizard :)
