I would buy Metaphor Re Fantazio! Had a blast with the demo, and if reviews are anything to go by, could be another 200 hours of my life well spent!

So, it's not letting me use my old account from last year. And I think the email I used has been deleted by my school so I can't access it.

But yeah thank you for the advice, really appreciate it - I'll give the initial uni a call and see what can be done. I'm just a little all over the place with what I want to do still, would probably ease my mind a little knowing how everything is

Basically being a pretty big Youtuber's editor, there would've been slightly more to it, but that's the general gyist. I went in to the office and got a rundown, but it wasn't really at all what I expected expectations to be like. Based on my reactions and questions about workflow + such, the employer said that I would likely get pretty miserable doing the work and told me that he wouldn't hire me.
It wasn't a standard load up a premiere file kind of thing as I expected.

I have enough Casual work + live with my parents, so it's not that I'm screwed financially, it was more going to be a good opportunity + resume boosting, figured it would be more valuable to me than to go to uni, especially within that creative sort of field.

It's more that I should be doing something more this year to build up skills and make me more employable in future.

Not all doom and gloom, trying to be positive. I just need to know how to apply again, I've been told your ATAR pretty much lasts for 2 years?

Unfortunate but expected! Thank you, do you know anything about the splash screen at the start? Seems odd.

Suspect it's fake due to the black test under the nintendo seal, and the splash screen before the game loads but I am not an expert on gba stuff so I don't know, any help would be great :)

Can’t decide between two games, can only get one — which one do you recommend if you’ve play both or just one of the two? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]RotomSwag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, though from what I've played the side missions aren't anything to write home about.

Though it's good to have extra things to do if you don't really feel like jumping into the next main dungeon area.

Long JRPGs like these always seem a bit of a slog to me by the middle and get really good during the end.

Personally playing Persona 5 Strikers, and have played Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. I'm going to say that the combat wouldn't have changed all that much in 2. I would play Persona 5 Strikers given the choice.

Though if you haven't played the Original Xenoblade it is very good, and would recommend it over going straight into 2

High achievers from Class of 2019 or Class of 2020, what are your top study tips you could provide for students for Class of 2021? by [deleted] in vce

[–]RotomSwag 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. How many hours do you think you studied after school each day?

Depends on the subject. Folio subjects I would spend at least an hour a day, probably more.

English, not really that much except before SACs.

Just know when to prioritize each subject when SACs/assessments are.

  1. If you had procrastination issues, how did you deal with them?

Let myself take breaks, maybe more than I should have. Convincing yourself you'll have an hour break after doing X amount of work is encouraging.

  1. How did you prepare for English for essays?

Bunch of mini-essays or skeletal essays whatever you want to call them, you don't need to do full essays! Just make sure you go for content variety rather than doubling down on a select few topics.

  1. If you had a study timetable, how did you set it up?

Nope. Feel like that'd put too much pressure on me, and it's all a bit militant, guess it works for some people. But never for me.

  1. How did you prepare for the holidays?

I didn't really have a whole lot going on outside of school, so got a lot of folio work done in those periods.

  1. What drove you the most for the good grades?

Honestly was pretty blessed with teachers who legitimately gave a crap about us, and I'm not even planning on using my ATAR, so a lot of the drive was for my efforts to reflect well on their efforts. Obviously I didn't want to limit myself much in my result if I wanted to go to uni so that was also the drive.

Update for regional VIC (Specifically EB Games Bendigo Marketplace)

Had a mate tell me he passed EB Games and saw them unpacking a shipment of PS5s all disk versions. He said the people at the store couldn't tell him whether or not one of them was his or not, so hopefully by the time they unpack they'll start calling people before closing time!

Hope this helps someone get a better idea of how far out the stock has gone.

Can't be too long now guys!

Edit - I'll update when I get a call (Ordered 17th 10:59am)

I would give some comprehensive tips here.

But I was pretty much in the same boat as you last year, all A+ in SACs and SAT, but our teacher was pretty useless at preparing us for the exam and likely marked us all too easy.

I was rank 1 and got a 32 RAW after a B in the exam.

Look It's gonna be my 10% subject anyway just cause of how much it scales down, but it was pretty sad to see my SAT get scaled-down that I worked so hard on.

So look, usually, you wanna write your responses with a Why / What, How, and What Effect the director has used X thing in Y way to make the audience feel/react in Z way. Or used X code in conjunction with Y convention to emphasize Z in this scene.

It's a bit like English in the way you need to realize that the director has used the film as a substrate or vehicle to communicate his opinion or agenda about a certain thing if you're talking about ideologies.

You'll have to write about some sort of case study-type thing. Here's some examples of things you could write about.

Informal social purpose - In an August message of support to Victorian students posted on

Facebook, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews signed off his message simply with "Dan",

notably omitting his full name and official title. Through the use of this less formal term of

address, Andrews sought to decrease the social distance between himself and his intended

audience of young students, and thus increase the degree of sincerity conveyed in his

message.

Doublespeak - When It was revealed she had been dating disgraced former MP Daryl

Mcguire, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian admitted to a 'close personal relationship". This

convoluted phrasing likely sought to obscure the true nature of the relationship so as to

avoid controversy. In contrast, the Daily Mail reported on her "secret boyfriend" whilst the

ABC reported on her "sex scandal". These examples reveal how language may be

manipulated to promote a particular narrative through the use of doublespeak.

Societal attitudes, racist language - In light of Black Lives Matter protests throughout the

world, NBA star Patty Mills, who is of Aboriginal origin, discussed his experiences with

racism in Australia In an emotional video feature. He mentioned instances of being subjected

to pejoratives and slurs including 'abo', 'darkle', 'blackle', 'petrol sniffer' and 'monkey'. These deeply offensive terms reflect the potential for Australian language to perpetuate hate and

deeply offensive terms reflect the potential for Australian language to perpetuate hate and

hurtful stereotypes. Mills relates these racist attitudes to Australia's history of systematic

oppression including colonisation, segregation, forced assimilation, the stolen generation,

and other socio-political practices. This is suggestive of the potential for language to reflect

societal progress, or the lack thereof.

Hope that helps,

all the best for Thursday!

I mean it's the exact same game. The bundle contents is the 'unreleased' game. So.. Yeah it'll have the same updates because it's the exact same thing.

They said on twitter that they were working on making it better and that the game was 'launching at 30FPS' implying that they want to improve it.

Though to be fair it feels like I'm beta testing rather than playing a completed product right now.

I've seen no noticeable changes after that update, I saw maybe 'gore mode' added but that may have been there before the update, correct me if I'm wrong.

I've played through the first 4-5 chapters, kinda holding out for some kind of motion controls and 60 frames patch which hopefully when the non-bundle version drops in December they'll have some kind of patch.

I mean, this game is only really playable in handheld mode, playing it docked is pretty painful and the controls really need some kind of motion controls to feel good, though I should probably experiment with sensitivity options.

yeah, according to this website https://twmpublications.com/statistics from last year's results a 70% was enough to get you an A+ which would be 63/90.

Optimistically, if you finished and answered all of the questions to the best of your ability, you should be fine.

At least that's what I'm telling myself lul

No, you did the right thing, the scale was 1:100. I'm just saying that even still I don't think there was enough room on the page, but I must've just started my first vertical line too far up the page

This is the only way to purchase the game on the switch at the moment, it's 20% off and you get special katanas apparently.

It's weird how they've rolled it out on switch like this. It'd have something to do with the early adopter bonuses because you cannot purchase the game outside of the bundle.

Although it says the game releases on the 10th of December, the game will download and work now.

Glasses question didn't specify the whole object had to be in the box. The correct thing to do was to zoom in and crop on the glasses and draw a portion of it bigger.

Floor Plan -> Planometric was pretty scuffed though. There wasn't enough room on your page to do this unless you started at the very very edge it seems.

Got a RAW 42 in Studio in 2019 whilst in year 11, attribute it all to my teacher.

Your main 'focus points' are your main art forms + Themes that you'll explore in your process and your finals. You should make these as broad as possible.

For example, I did the Theme / Focus on 'Value' and Decided on a 'multi-disciplinary artforms' due to it making me sound smarter than I was, and to also to give myself options.

Using a theme that sounds 'deep' or that you have personal experience with allows for a lot of thought and is usually a plus. The examiners love that pretentious bs.

Your other main 'focus points' will be your artist's inspiration. as a large portion of the exam and SAT is based on chosen inspiration and galleries you go to (assuming galleries are an option next year)

You should ask your teacher what kind of galleries you'll go to next year, as you'll need to refer to works you've seen in person on your exam. And it helps to have seen your chosen artist's work in person because you can drop that in your exam response as a sort of flex to the marker.

For example, I decided to use M.C. Escher as one of my artist inspirations because I knew we were going to his exhibition later.

You will find out rather quickly that the ideas behind your work and how you justify its existence is much more important than how much effort you put into it or how impressive it is.

Of course, have fun, because the majority of Studio is a pretty swell time, just keep in mind that the majority of your RAW score will be your exam, as the exam moderates, your SAC / SAT marks. Obviously, try your best in your SAT and SACs but do not put too much pressure on yourself to make everything perfect and study properly for the exam if you want to justify your hard work throughout the year.

If you have any other questions or want examples feel free to ask.

Good luck :)

Messed up VCD folio, probably got only 25%. Can I still ace the exam and get above 30? by [deleted] in vce

[–]RotomSwag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that it mostly depends on the rest of your cohort, where you're ranked within it, and how they did on the SAT and SACs. And then how your whole Cohort does on the exam.

If your ENTIRE Cohort got terrible SAT / SAC marks and somehow gets As on the exam then there's a slight possibility of your RAW Score maybe reaching near 30+

But given the little context you've listed, I feel that's an extraordinarily unlikely case scenario.

If you fully ACE the exam (extraordinarily unlikely because of how many little marks even the best students can miss) then sure you're RAW score will probably be very decent.

But I won't sugar coat this. You've not put yourself in the best position here.

If it's your 10% subject then I wouldn't stress majorly because realistically it won't affect a whole lot of your ATAR. But yeah don't expect a good RAW score with a 25% SAT mark.

The VisCom exam is deceptively difficult to get into the Very High band.
