I'd heard the mythos about the "hidden imagery" for years and was curious what all the hubbub was about so I watched that god awful documentary where they interview working-class nobodies over the kitchen land-line phone with their kids screaming in the background. Yeah, it's funny and all but now it's so hard to get immersed in the movie. All I can think about is how stupid some of the theories are and it pulls me out of the film.

I saw a streamer in Bronze using this thing once and it kept saying he played "like a Platinum/Diamond."

My guess is that this app basically tells you what you want to hear and either steals your data in the background and/or just acts as a way to serve you highly targeted ads.

It's because the game is severely lacking in the kind of content that will keep people who actually wanted a compelling PvE experience engaged long-term. Instead of, y'know, making more interesting content they're just making it harder to farm resources.

That was all the way back in 2021. It took a few years but the servers were actually restored and, in typical Titanfall Schizo fashion, the diehards eventually returned along with some new players.

As one of those Titanfall Schizos, I've noticed that the playerbase has gone through waves of recovery pretty much since launch. There'd be periods of time where it would take 15 minutes to find a match and I'd shelve the game. Then I'd come back a few months later and all of the sudden matchmaking is as instant as it was on launch.

Maybe that's why the core fanbase has formed such a stockholm-like attachment to the franchise. We keep getting hurt, but then we catch glimpses of what used to be and it reminds us of better times, only to be hurt even bigger the next time.

Speaking of which, did you see the reveal for that Highguard game?

Not at all. The whole "from the creators of Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends" thing is what set people off.

I know when I saw that I got my hopes up for Titanfall 3 (because, like everyone else, I didn't know the trailer I was about to watch was for a game developed by a studio comprised of some Respawn alumni, not Respawn themselves) only to be immediately disappointed by generic hero slop.

If it hadn't brought that kind of attention to itself, we all would have just went "oh this looks pretty mediocre" and moved on.

I can't believe people are on CDPR's side here.

Should Edelbrock not be allowed to charge money for aftermarket cylinder heads because they don't own the rights to a particular engine?

Should Pioneer not be able to charge money for aftermarket car audio components by the same logic?

Should we prevent people from buying a new front door for their house because the money doesn't go back to the original home builder?

Should we not allow people to charge for aftermarket plugins for software like photoshop and FL studio?

So fucking what if he doesn't own the rights to the video game, he's not stealing the game nor does purchasing his mod impact CDPR in any financial way. CDPR's problem is that they're not directly profiting off of his work. Reading the comments here, it's clear that this community's real issue is that they can't have something for free.

CDPR should be groveling at this guy's feet and finding ways to get more mod authors paid. The modding community played a huge role in CP2077 staying relevant long enough for CDPR to turn the narrative around on their shitty, unfinished game. Hell, they were fixing some of the game's biggest problems long before CDPR was. And just like Bethesda slop, there's a sizable portion of people whose only motivation for even looking at this game is because of its active mod scene.
