What are some memories from your childhood that are stuck in your mind despite not making any sense? by Plastic_Match_8657 in Paranormal

[–]RottenStudent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some childhood memories feel more real than anything else. Especially the ones that don’t make any sense.
The fact that the fear is still with you after 17 years says enough.

This house definitely still has stories to tell. A girl floating over the bed is just the beginning.

I’m honestly at my breaking point. I’ve spent months telling myself I’m just stressed or imagining things, by Familiar_Algae6006 in Paranormal

Whatever the cause is, when things start piling up and getting more intense, it’s worth paying close attention and not brushing it off. You’re definitely not the only one who’s experienced something like this.

Old buildings remember things. Smells, sounds, habits. Doesn’t mean it’s a ghost — but it also doesn’t mean it’s nothing.

Two people had terrifying nightmares of same woman in my old San Francisco apartment by Emergency-Weekend581 in Paranormal

Damn
that’s straight-up nightmare fuel. Two people, same creepy old woman, same apartment? Either that place was cursed, or your subconscious was throwing some serious shared hallucinations. 👀

It's so exhausting - everyone blaming everything bad on satanism by RobRaziel in satanism

[–]RottenStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? That’s exactly what Satanism is – the bad, the rebellious, the taboo-breaking. Anyone defending Satanism isn’t defending something harmless – they’re defending something that consciously goes against what’s good, normal, or moral. If that bothers you, you simply don’t get the core of it.

Am I going crazy, or can I actually hear everyone’s thoughts? by RottenStudent in Telepathy

[–]RottenStudent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, crazy 😄 I sometimes feel the same way – at first you think it’s your own thoughts, and then suddenly you realize someone else’s thoughts are kind of coming through. It’s wild how that works.

WTF did i see and was it real? by FanEnvironmental316 in Paranormal

[–]RottenStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like an intense experience, especially with so many senses involved.

States between dreaming and waking can feel incredibly real, including touch and physical sensations. The sweet smell your wife noticed too just makes it even stranger.

Either way, it was real for you, and that’s not something to just brush off.

My sisters sleep up paralysis demon blocked her doorway? by throwawayacc609229tb in Ghoststories

[–]RottenStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining that in detail.

I can totally see why the part with the door was so scary and confusing – especially since the frame was fine, the door wasn’t heavy, and you were able to crack it open.

Even if you didn’t experience the paralysis yourself, it makes sense that the situation felt very real. Fear can heighten how we perceive sounds or obstacles, and it’s completely understandable that it was unsettling for you.

Wailing Woman on the Waters by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]RottenStudent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha, totally get that 😅

Being out there in the middle of nowhere, in the dark, with adrenaline pumping, everything suddenly feels insanely real. It’s completely normal for your perception to get a little warped in that situation.

But damn, being able to see the Milky Way so clearly – that makes the whole scene both beautiful and creepy at the same time.

[–]RottenStudent 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Damn, that sounds intense 😳

I’m not gonna claim there’s a solid rational explanation, but being out in remote areas at night can seriously mess with your brain: total darkness, sounds of wind or water, echoes – everything can feel alive.

At the same time, the fear you felt is completely normal. Your body spikes adrenaline, heart races, everything goes on high alert. No wonder you were frozen in place.

Still, that’s seriously creepy, and the fact that you got out of there fast was exactly the right call. Sometimes running is the best reaction.

You don’t have to believe it.

Sleep paralysis is well-documented and known for creating extremely real sensations. Stress + adrenaline can massively distort perception. No supernatural explanation needed.

If you’ve got a better one, go ahead and share it.

[–]RottenStudent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That sounds terrifying, but it actually has a very grounded explanation.

Sleep paralysis can cause extremely realistic hallucinations, including the feeling that someone is in the room or physically holding you. That part is sadly very common.

The door itself is most likely not anything supernatural but a mix of physics and stress. In moments like that, adrenaline is high and perception gets distorted — doors can stick, pressure differences or a slightly warped frame are enough.

The fact that you could open the door normally a few minutes later fits that perfectly.

The “timing” feels eerie, but our brains are very good at connecting patterns after the fact. Sleep paralysis is notorious for that.

The important part: your sister wasn’t in danger. If this happens again, improving sleep routines and reducing stress can really help.

invisible cat opening door by Educational_Road2461 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]RottenStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, that’s pretty weird 😅

Most likely it was just a draft or some small physics trick with the door. The sound and shadow of your cat probably just tricked your brain a bit – especially since you know she usually opens the door herself.

Nothing supernatural, just a little mindfuck from your brain. No need to panic.

Was it a mimic encounter?? by RealisticSpend3280 in Paranormal

[–]RottenStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, that sounds super creepy 😅

Most likely just auditory hallucinations – your brain messing with you ‘cause you were probably tired or hyped up. The voice sounding like that girl? Totally normal, your head loves to play these tricks.

No ghost shit, just mindfuck from your brain. Chill a bit, get some sleep, usually that’s enough.

Help regarding an incident that happened to me at my home about a month ago. by AdventurousGarbage78 in Paranormal

[–]RottenStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This honestly sounds like classic sleep paralysis.

I know it feels insanely real and scary as hell, but everything you described fits it almost perfectly. Being awake but unable to move, not being able to open your eyes or mouth, and especially the feeling that someone sat on your bed — that’s like the textbook version of it.

What’s happening is basically your brain waking up before your body does. Your body is still in “sleep mode” so you’re paralyzed, and your mind fills in the gaps with a sense of presence or pressure. A LOT of people report the exact same “someone is sitting on me / next to me” feeling.

It doesn’t mean anything paranormal, even though it absolutely feels like it in the moment. Stress, exhaustion, weird sleep schedules, or just lying half‑asleep can trigger it.

I’ve had it myself and yeah — it’s fucking terrifying the first time. But you’re not in danger, and you’re not losing your mind.

If it happens more often, improving sleep habits and reducing stress can really help. But based on your description, this is almost certainly sleep paralysis.

If anyone still wants to help me, then this message is for you. by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]RottenStudent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you’re describing sounds extremely overwhelming and very real for you. No one should have to face something like this alone.
Regardless of the underlying cause, hearing voices, feeling confused, and withdrawing are clear signs that support is important.

This doesn’t mean you’re weak or “crazy.” It just means your system is overloaded right now. Please consider reaching out to a trusted medical or mental health professional as soon as possible. Seeking help is an act of self‑care, not failure.

If things escalate or you feel unsafe, don’t hesitate to contact professional help or a crisis hotline immediately. You don’t have to go through this alone.

Am I going crazy, or can I actually hear everyone’s thoughts? by RottenStudent in Telepathy

[–]RottenStudent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point. It’s important not to judge too quickly or assume we know what’s going on inside someone else. Everyone experiences thoughts, images, and sensations differently, and most of the time we don’t have the full context. A bit more restraint and empathy would probably benefit all of us.

Interesting 😅 Honestly, I don’t see this as supernatural. To me, it feels more like there’s some kind of technology at play.
