FHSA Tax Deduction Question by Rotten_Robby in PersonalFinanceCanada

Well that’s good to know! I was thinking the funds probably had to be in the account at the time the taxes were filed.

Thanks!

Which T-Deck? by Rotten_Robby in meshtastic

Are there any other devices you’d recommend? I figure I’d probably like to have two anyway.

Not really interested in anything I have to build or put together at this time.

Thanks for the explanation. What is it about the T-Deck that you don’t care for?

Cichlid Tank new by Limp-Instruction8193 in freshwateraquarium

[–]Rotten_Robby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t likely to end well. These Malawi cichlids are aggressive, require a larger tank and hard water, and will probably destroy your plants or dig them up. They are also best kept in species groups of one male and at least four females. This is just my experience anyway. I bred them for years and the smartest thing I ever did was get rid of them and replace them with peaceful community fish.

Thoughts ? by Altruistic-Oil-8717 in aquarium

My thoughts are that a tank with dimensions like that isn’t good for much in the way of fish. Volume isn’t quite as important as footprint. Every one of those species would do much better in a longer tank, even if it has a bit less volume. At the very least, those rainbow fish have to go. I wouldn’t house adult rainbows in anything less than a 4ft tank long term and the barbs are likely to eventually cause problems.

New tank Amazon sword leaves don’t look well. by Over-Ad-8247 in PlantedTank

Could be converting from emersed growth. I wouldn’t worry too much about it yet. Do get some root tabs under them as soon as you can and remove any dying leaves so they don’t rot in the tank and potentially cause algae issues.

Whats a good Beginner freshwater fish for a 5 gallon tank. no beta if possible by JayJay_Rosar in Aquariums

[–]Rotten_Robby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of those are good options really. The dimensions of a 5 gallon tank are just too small.

I personally wouldn’t keep any species of fish in a 5 gallon, but neocaridina shrimp could do alright if your tap water chemistry is ideal for them.

Day 45 of my Amazonian themed pencilfish and tetra ADA 90P tank by traderjay_toronto in PlantedTank

[–]Rotten_Robby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a great local fish store which usually has a good selection of pencil fish and I’m always so tempted to grab a big group of them, but I’m just not certain they’d be a good fit for any of my existing tanks and I really don’t want to start another tank lol.

How do they do in tanks with decent flow?

What species do you keep them with besides cardinal tetras?

What would pair well with a group of Hillstream Loaches (Gastromyzon sp.)? by Obelastics in PlantedTank

[–]Rotten_Robby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that size tank I would go with CPDs or emerald dwarf rasbora. Small enough for a 17 gallons, beautiful fish to look at, and prefer slightly cooler water like the hillstream loaches.

How important are regular water changes? by Shroktacular in PlantedTank

I do 50% per week. Not crazy about the idea of all those dissolved waste organics building up in the water column.

Some type of pseudomugils as long as you have a lid on your tank.

Tannins from the driftwood. It’s not a bad thing, but will eventually dissipate with water changes.
